2. You cant buy phhysical games because we dont want you sharing with other people.
3. If your xbox camera detects another person in the room who didnt pay for the game himself it shuts off until he buys it.

Thats what Microsoft would do if they were able to. They already tried doing something like that anyways.

When I mean, immersive adverts, i mean stuff like in-game billboards where you can see the ads in the 3D world, but it's not blocking your actual game-play.
Also unless they're doing some really scummy way of handling advert delivery, you should just be able to block them from appearing via something like Pi-Hole, no?

Microsoft is a company that at one time dominated over 90% of the market, they've managed to largely maintain their revenue even as their share of the market has fallen to under 33%, but companies need to not just make money they need to continually make more money. With less users to draw from and increasing difficulty getting even their remaining users to pay they have to figure out ways to generate more revenue from the users who are left.

Turning all of their platforms into closed, ad supported systems which only allow approved software maximizes the revenue they can generate.
If you don't like it its time to get out of Microsoft's ecosystem, or you can get used to drinking verification cans.

MS also made the paid subscription to play online a mainstay, fortunately PC users absolutely shat on GFWL before it took root.

City of Heroes tried that back in the day and it was annoying as fuck.
Capcom tried pasting ads onto the character's costumes in SFV more recently, and had to pull that shit in less than a month due to noone wanting to see it.
These "inobtrusive, immersive" ads sound great until they're actually implimented. Then the hard reality sets in that nobody - not me, not you, not that guy over there - wants ads in their games period because it always stands out and annoys you.

Product placement is separate from just ads. They both suck, but one literally stops the game to shill while the other does it more subtly.
