The game got so fucking savagely mauled in the chopping-block during development, most of the holdover parts just simply no longer mesh together. Remember the 3rd person leaks? They had to literally restart development at least twice IIRC. Some of the crap like the CC were left in just because they called the game an RPG 4 years before release.
