Holy KINO

>gets one shot by sin
bloke was a jobber.

my holy build was doing ok but i switched to blashphemous blade +10 and nuked him.

Worst boss in the game.
>ANOTHER "REMEMBER ARTORIAS????" fight (what are we at 5 now?)
>Spends the majority of the fight in the air where you can't hit him making the fight so much less engaging
>When he finally comes down it's for microseconds before he starts jumping around like a spastic again
>Every hit drains your health

>Burn down the Erdtree
>Get teleported to the ass end of the planet for no reason at all
>"Um, no, I wanted to go fight Marika now that the thorns are gone"
>Teleport out and go back to Leyndell
>Except the thorns are still there
>Even though the Erdtree is visibly on fire and the Roundtable Hold is burning, it apparently doesn't count
>None of the NPCs will explain what's going on
>Waste a half hour trying to figure out what to do before doing back and clearing out dragonland by process of elimination
>Beastman Clergyman is there for some reason, also he's been Maliketh this whole time
>Apparently you needed to unseal the rune of death to burn the Erdtree even though you already burned the Erdtree (also just forget about the fact that it was already stolen long before this)?
>Also, Maliketh is somehow still alive in Caelid even though you just killed him
What the fuck did Miyazaki mean by this? The main plot progression in this game is jank as fuck

You forgot
>parry item makes him sway around drunkenly that you can't even capitalize on unless you're using magic

This guy was really cool. I love the jumping off the columns shit. Didn't expect that reveal too.

Also like the fact that he doesn't have much health but can nuke you into oblivion so it feels more like a duel than a super boss.

it's lame that his armor doesn't have an open midriff when you get it.

Yeah it's like they playtested him but didn't have enough time to do anything about his garbage moveset so they just threw in a shitty item.

>The tree has been set on fire several times before as you have been told before through Bernahl or Vyke doing the same shit as you
>You need the rune of death which was temporarily stolen for one particular task, to do the deed because the Erdtree is an actual physical god, not just a tree
>You get teleported to the place it is sealed in by Malenia or the Three Fingers, because they know this already and so do you technically, as Enia tells you to search the rune of death when you talk to her about the roots
>Gurranq is only half the time back in Caelid, it's obviously a bug which should be obvious considering the bugfest the game is

>Malenia
Melina.
Every time.

I still don't get what you're supposed to do in Phase 2 other than be ultra agressive and pray for the best

Behrnal and Vyke never burned the Erdtree. Also, the Rune of Death is still loose, that's why deathroot exists.

Phase 2 is unironically easier than phase 1 for me now, it was way more safe openings to attack.
You can massive chunks off his health after almost every combo he does, just stick close to him and when he does the backflip explosion you should pre-position to be where he'll land afterwards.

>because they know this already and so do you technically, as Enia tells you to search the rune of death when you talk to her about the roots
I had done Fia's quest on my first playthrough so I assumed she was just talking about that

keep dodging until he does his slam attack and then hit him once and then go back to dodging. or use a tanky summon and stun lock him with max level blasphemous blade.

using strat #2 means the fight takes 2 seconds.

Bernahl definitely burned the tree as his armor outright states his maiden burned herself in the pyre. It may not have had the intended effect, but it hardly matters.
And deathroot exists because Godwyn is latched onto the Erdtree roots, dingus. That is the whole point of Those Who Live in Death and why the GO works with Gurranq.

Most souls bosses are actually eaiser when they heat up. They trade defense for intimidating desperation moves

Absolutely kino boss, the dark souls combat ruined the game tho.

Maliketh is the best beast femboy BF.

He's a bottom btw

Bernahl was worthy as an Elden Lord UNTIL his maiden burned herself

It's any man's sensible assumption at that point, since indeed, there's a literal quest you could have been doing relating to the same rune. I thought the same until I got to Maliketh and it was just a, oh, that's what she meant, sort of moment.

strawpoll.com/polls/PKglzlmjRyp/results

This. I though he was a bara hunk under those robes but were surprised to discover he was actually a twink

He's just a borzoi

If Bernahl had burned the Erdtree, you would have known about it considering that the Erdtree would have spontaneously caught fire at any point in the game before your very eyes at the moment he did it. My impression was that his maiden killed herself when he chose the path of the recusant.
Also, read the description of Deathroot. It is literally and physically the Rune of Death, set loose upon the world and growing like a weed, wild and not doing it's job properly due to Godwyn infecting it.

Your post means nothing, user. Bernahl did the job, his maiden killed herself like Melina, the Erdtree either caught fire or didn't, but either way he decided not to continue since the two fingers for the Tarnished probably were active at the time/not having a meltdown and labeled him with "the cardinal sin" of burning the tree.

It's really fucking baffling how often From soft habe recycled the Ludwig modfight cutscene at this point.
It's always the exact same formula: Boss recoils from damage, pulls out a sword from somewhere, epic close up of the fave with the blade halfway in the frame and then topped off by a cinematic shot of boss posting with its sword.
We have 3 of those I can think of in Elden Ring alone. Maliketh, Rykard, Elden Beast.
Probably more I'm forgetting.

And yet every single time everyone's reaction is just
>kiiiiiiinooooo
Then again they really do like eating the same shit over and over again just slightly repackaged so I shouldn't be surprised.

O Korean fujos... become my artist once more

What?
Bernahl has been part of the Manor for a shitload of time quite obviously. Just as obviously nobody would tell you about the tree burning because it's a sin and the two fingers DON'T ALLOW IT.

>Later, the Rune of Death spread across the Lands Between through the underground roots of the Greattree, sprouting in the form of Deathroot.

I guess the deathroot is just spreading through the exact same channel as Godwyn, in the exact same fashion, stemming from the same situation, but are unrelated! Must be the Rune of Death that is still out there despite everyone tells you it's not the case and also you find it with Maliketh.

cool boss fight, but it left a bad taste in my mouth simply due to the game's camera ONCE AGAIN not being sufficient for this type of fight. When he's constantly flipping up/down/around and flinging shit everywhere and doing sweeping breakdance moves zooming across the stage from around and behind pillars and shit, it just feels like pure luck sometimes whether or not I can even swing the fucking camera around to find where the hell he is before he zooms back in and 1-2 shots you. That or just putting out panic rolls without seeing where he is and just praying you get lucky and i-frame through whatever he throws at you.

I would've preferred the fight had they given him more health and toned down the acrobatic camera-destroying flippy shit. Or at least zoomed out the camera to accommodate it or something.

>Is literally quoting a sentence telling you that the Rune of Death is still out there and spreading across the land in the form of cursed plants
>Is still insisting that this sentence must mean the opposite of what it's saying
Cringe
Also Bernahl doesn't join the Volcano Manor until about the same time as you, he's stuck in Limgrave until you set foot in Mount Gelmir. If he burned down the Erdtree, you would know about it because you would look up into the sky and see a burning Erdtree that you weren't responsible for. That never happens so it's safe to say he didn't do that.

I don’t think Vyke ever burned the Erdtree, but I think Behrnal might have. After all, his maiden did burn herself at the Forge of Giants. Likewise, when Melina burns herself the tree catches fire, but to really get it going you need to defeat Maliketh. Probably Behrnal was so distraught by the death of his maiden that he never went on to defeat Maliketh while he still had a chance.

Where does it state she threw herself into the forge of giants? It only says "the fire"

Do tarnished even work according to parallel worlds in Elden Ring like they do in Dark Souls? It's less clear than ever before because it seems like when you kill NPC red phantoms they die in real life (Ensha, that one red in the RoundtableHold, etc)

>kill dung eater
>roderika doesn't have any new dialogue and keeps repeating that same line about him being close by until you reach Farum Azula
Lame

How come there’s no “JOINNN THE SERPENNNT KINGGG AS FAMILEEEE, TOGETHAAA WE WILL DEVAUAR THE VERY GAWDSSSSS”

>If Bernahl had burned the Erdtree, you would have known about it considering that the Erdtree would have spontaneously caught fire at any point in the game before your very eyes at the moment he did it.
Not if it happened long before you came into the lands between, which might very well be the case.

>My impression was that his maiden killed herself when he chose the path of the recusant.
Then why is Melina cool with that choice?, she only wants you to stay away from the Frenzied Flame.

It's not the case because Bernahl doesn't become a recusant and don the beast armor until you show up. Also, the maidens are their own people with their own priorities. A maiden who has the personality of a female Brother Corhyn would be much less cool with her tarnished joining the volcano manor than Melina.

Why else would she burn herself?, the idea that she did burn herself in an attempt to burn the erdtree does track when you consider that Behrnal blames the Greater Will for all of this, including her death.

Unclear, but when I replayed the game I did visit the Roundtable Hold in Leyndell and Albrich was already dead before I defeated him in the other Roundtable Hold, so you are in fact being invaded by an actual ghost.

NPC Tarnished plays like a combination of BOTW and KOTORII.
Meanwhile you are playing as a mute Turbo Murderhobo who couldn´t get a child to drop his candy without killing the child in question.

Its that in typical FROM fashion, the game is also unfinished. Farum Azula might be the best unfinished area in the game, but its lacking the actual transition to get into it.

>It's not the case because Bernahl doesn't become a recusant and don the beast armor until you show up.
He is in fact wearing the beast champion armor the first time you meet him, he’s just missing the helmet so you probably just didn’t notice.

It seems to me like Behrnal was already a recusant when you meet him, he’s just trying to fly under the radar and thus uses a Zwei rather than the Serpent staff which honestly would make it very obvious he was a recusant if you saw him wielding it.

Yeah but that could also just be an artifact of the NPC encounters not fully compensating for (you) visiting areas out of order. Like how you're supposed to think that Ranni got attacked by Blaidd's body double until you find him in the evergaol and have the option to free him, at which point you realize the developers wrote the quest assuming you'd free him (Iji has dialogue like "wait no how did he get free???") and just didn't account for what happens if you don't because they know the fans will just headcanon their way out of the plot hole.

It's stated that no Tarnished made it further than Vyke, who got corrupted by the Three Fingers in an attempt to spare his maiden. So Bernahl's maiden didn't die in the forge, as that would mean he was closest to becoming Lord.

On the different personalities of Maidens, I just don’t know enough to elaborate. But the holy maiden dagger you get while going to Giant’s Peak might be an useful clue for that.

That's literally Melina's dagger tho

Attached: FP7gNVAagAEIdkg.jpg (1920x1032, 239.4K)

Who were the demigods that Vyke killed to make it all the way to Mountaintop of Giants? Some nameless members of Godfrey's lineage? Gideon also killed at least 2 demigods we never hear about because he was granted audience with the Two Fingers, and Enia says he possessed two Great Runes (the last one to do so before you).

cute furry femboy

Could it be developer oversight?, yeah, sure. But we can’t prove that one way or the other.

I think the legends about Vyke being the one who got closest might be simply wrong. I cannot prove that, but I still think Bernahl might have been as close if not a little closer. All in all, we just can’t be sure what it was that happened to Bernahl and his Maiden.

Made for sexual intercourse with human men

Again, to argue further I would have to scour for more lore related to this. I just don’t know because the only living Maiden we ever see is Therolina during the Radhan Festival and all she does is vow, so not much info there and that’s assuming she isn’t a puppet at that point.

Okay so you ARE retarded. Not only does Bernahl wear the armor, he has the fucking Devourer's Scepter if you attack him.
Just stop.

>people thought this was a lion

>game's official prerelease story trailer, and the deathroot description, both state that the entire rune of death was stolen which is flat out contradicted by Rogier's dialogue and the fact that Maliketh still has it when you fight him
>Multiple NPCs and item descriptions, such as Varre, Blaidd during the festival of war, Morgott/Margit, the Memory of Grace, etc all either implying or outright stating that you no longer have grace despite the game telling you that you still have grace to explain why you respawn
>If the player dies during encounters that would leave them permanently killed or eternally cursed during the story like against Rykard, Dung Eater, Morgott phase 2, or Maliketh, it doesn't count and you respawn back fine regardless
>The way the time before the erdtree is described as a hodgepodge of chaotic life due to the crucible mashing everything together, as described by Shabriri, the Godskin Noble armor, and all the crucible gear, being contradicted by the existence of the ancestral followers, beasts, dragons, and giants in that same time before the Erdtree while the Crucible was still supposedly doing it's thing
>The way half the endings of the game are ME3-tier colorswaps and all share an achievement
Game's lore is kind of a mess desu

complete nonsense, he's a flamboyant top.
Blaidd is the bottom.

If you die when trying to kill Dung Eater in his cell shouldn't your game be legit over?

Damn the 4 guys that really hate Elden ring are just going to town today.

>furry trannies

Technically yeah he gives the curse and the curse keeps the erdtree from recycling the tarnished. It’s actually a based curse. It’s a total fuck you to the greater will and all the outer gods. You can’t toy with the people anymore, once their gone thats it, no more bringing back legends or absorbing their power
