Neither of the Nioh games portray Nobunaga as good nor evil.

Nobunaga was a controversial ruler, but he really wasn't any worse than the other warlords at the time. The only reason he's portrayed as a demon king in popular media so often is because he actually called himself one as a joke. One of his political rivals called him The Demon King of the Sixth Heaven, and Nobunaga thought it sounded badass and started using it as an official title to clown on him.

I did a new character in 2 and Im using splitstaff and tonfas. Maybe it's just my stats but I just beat ice odachi guy and the playthrough so far has made the splitstaff feel so much weaker than tonfas

Nobunaga is just the guy who pays you in 2 and helps you get revenge against Yoshitatsu. His attacks on Azai were portrayed as kind of fucked

Splitstaff is pretty weak DPS-wise because it consumes so much ki, yeah. It has to spam the most OP abilities it has over and over just to be competitive with the other weapon types.
