why not just put in horizontally?

:0

>covering the vents of a notoriously hot console
retard

so you should never buy pc cases with top exhaust vents?

>notoriously hot console
Do you just come into threads to purposely lie?

That's an exhaust, not an intake. Triple decker nigger with cheese.

I'm pretty sure this is bait.
First of all, it's an exhaust which makes it hard to accumulate dust, especially if you're not a dirty nigger that doesn't clean his shit once a week.
Secondly, if you did that you'd fry your fucking console as you'd keep all the heat inside.
Either bait or retarded.

>why not just put in horizontally?
because it was designed to optimally output heat vertically, also it makes sense since heat rises

>>covering
it doesn't cover, there's a pretty substantial gap

>That's an exhaust, not an intake.
no shit, I didn't realize dust only fell on intakes...

But does it work against Javelins?

>it's an exhaust which makes it hard to accumulate dust
if it was constantly on, that would be true.

>Secondly, if you did that you'd fry your fucking console as you'd keep all the heat inside.
there's an alternate heat release port on the upper back of the console, if people left books n shit on top of the main exhaust. it's tiny.
with the amount of space this clears heat dissipation is absolutely not a problem

Sirs…please do not redeem the Xbox…please wait in line for your Marvel Netflix Station 5

>if it was constantly on, that would be true
Which is where fucking cleaning your shit once a week comes in you disgusting rat.

>there's an alternate heat release port on the upper back of the console, if people left books n shit on top of the main exhaust
That's an intake you fucking nigger, it sucks in through the back through the negative pressure generated inside by the fan and spits it out at the top.
I can't believe I'm replying to this bait retardation so last (You).

Why are you so mad?

Looks like someone covered your main exhaust lol

>air now has to do a 90 degree turn before being vented

I found an even better trick to protect it from dust. I put it back in its box and inside a closet after finishing the only game I bought it for.

>Which is where fucking cleaning your shit once a week comes in you disgusting rat.
how would you clean under the grill to the fans where the dust cakes on? the unit is molded shut retard

>That's an intake you fucking nigger
alright good bait troll you really are a dumb fuck with no idea how this console operates

>oh no my hot air has to move a little bit before rising out of the unit
do you know how heat works?

Attached: 61XyLqpL8DL.jpg (1500x1500, 125.11K)

Only way to really clean it is to just blow into the exhaust and hope youre not just blowing dust inside lmao

thats the intake, see
which I specifically mentioned
>there's an alternate heat release port on the upper back of the console,
>upper back of the console
>upper

>thats the intake, see
why are half the vents covered up?

yes it's far less efficient when it has to do 90 degree turns

Mine is actually a little dusty, damn. How am I supposed to clean this shit?

>yes it's far less efficient when it has to do 90 degree turns
so what does the heat do in the meantime, go back into the system?
the fans would need to be spinning considerably faster for it to bounce back in and not immediately get spat out again
otherwise it lingers above while moving to the edges of the unit to dissipate, the core CPU is not being affected by this

How is dust supposed to get in through the top if air is constantly coming out of there?

or you know, clean your house/things at least twice a week

>if air is constantly coming out of there?
do you leave your console on 24/7?

>or you know, clean your house/things at least twice a week
cleaning kicks dust into the air, which will then land into the console

stagnate under the cover and become the next bottleneck in heat transfer

>notoriously hot console
Why do you just tell easily disproven lies?

The ugly green plate under the vents should have been LEDs that formed an X shape and changed colors to represent the power state of the console.

> notoriously hot console
de/v/iant coomers make me sick

>do you leave your console on 24/7?
But it has a dust filter behind the fan.

>stagnate under the cover and become the next bottleneck in heat transfer
shouldn't be a problem

>It needs more RGB!
Keep your cancer to your gaymen pc

or you could just.... use something that has been standard on PCs for over 3 decades...

Attached: 81jKtff2wrL._AC_SL1500_.jpg (1500x1398, 444.98K)

this works on PCs because you can adjust fan speed manually to account for a restricted intake/output

on consoles you'd be choking the system to automatically drive up the fans over time which would cause more wear-and-tear on the system

>this retard thinks the console is designed to be running the fan 24/7

>magnetizes your hard drives
yea right buddy I'm not falling for that one again

No!

Attached: 61iU0E1wtOL._AC_SY450_[1].jpg (570x450, 25.11K)

PC fans can run 24/7, why couldn't the Xbox fan also do it?

Very helpful. Now how do we fix the ps5?

ah yes, I love a bunch of RGB gayming lights in my face while I'm playing games

>not losing performance
wow microsoft broke the laws of physics and removed thermal junction?

Both of those can run 24/7 until they eventually die from it. Its not good to leave shit on 24/7 no matter how good the tech gets

>magnets

I'm pretty sure the fan runs 24/7 unless you put the console in Energy-Saving mode.

nice a beer stand. Good idea.

do consoles not have dustfilters?

that wouldn't help at all

Attached: what.jpg (1021x619, 147.36K)

kek

Just set it to a single color.

Is it still not possible to buy this retail?

Attached: 1643893343267.png (250x250, 97.09K)

just buy a pc

tech jesus made a video about the series x airflow horizontally vs vertically.
tl;dr doesnt matter, you can use either

>take console that cools effectively
>block its ventilation so that's no longer the case

Microsoft themselves says you can put it horizontally.

I just bought mine from target last week
they had a bunch in stock

Lucky
Already have one.

Good, then you don't need a worthless xbox

I just put a cover on the top when it's switched off.

I wouldn't consider 20mm spacing to be "blocking" airflow
