You spent how many dozens of hours with her wondering what she looked like. You don't have to be a horny waifufag to be disappointed that so little effort was put into it. But yes, there's a reason there's nothing like it anywhere else: a connected trilogy mostly, I'm looking at you ME2 sharing choices, protagonist and recurring cast is ambitious and hard to do as fuck, It's why Dragon Age has new protagonist and setting each game, it's why Witcher tried to do the whole importing savefile thing but ended up not really mattering at all.
The fact ME3 has consequences affected by ME1 choices is to be commended, it's what keeps you coming back and replaying these games

but the main story was so nonsensical it's unbelievable. I don't have it on me but that chart showing ME2 being a pointless side story is 100% accurate.
and it could have easily been fixed by making the collector base either be the crucible or reveal the crucible plans, so we'd feel like at least some fucking progress was made for fighting the reapers. instead that shit was shoehorned into the beginning of ME3 and it's painfully obvious the writers had just panicked.

There, ME2 and two of its major expansions now matter. As it stands Liara finding the Crucible in Mars acts more on her archeologist past than her info broker one, Traynor is a better info broker than her as far as the player is concered because she's the one that finds out about Grissom and Gellix anyways.

He wouldn't be that wrong, newfags that got into the franchise with the remaster played all the games back to back with all DLCs; that's a considerably better experience than theory crafting between releases or experiencing vanilla ME3 before Extended Cut or Leviathan.

Overall I thought it had the best written characters, but yes they did fuck with Liara's character way too much. I still liked her in the Shadow Broker DLC though. Jacob was just a token black, completely uninteresting because giving him any kind of personality or flaws would've been racist.
