MGS1-4 was a magical ride and there will never being anything like it in videogames ever again

Its terrible but its also great. The finale fight between Snake and Ocelot is one of the highlights of the series. The first two chapters of MGS4 I'd consider a worthy successor to 3, the rest is of middling quality but there are still moments of greatness sprinkled throughout the rest of the game. Its absolutely worth playing once at the very least. I wouldn't say the same for V.
Carson Hill
Peak of the MGS series, and one of the greatest video games ever made.
Grayson Mitchell
MGS4 has a few cool ideas and moments, but it's pretty bad overall. I'd say it's worse than PW and MGSV. Still better than PO, at least.
Leo James
Garbage, worst control scheme in history
Matthew Morgan
it was a decent movie

>The finale fight between Snake and Ocelot is one of the highlights
It's just a parade of fanwank.

>FEDERAL HALL?!
Easton Myers
you get used to it zoomie just play on easy, everyone plays these games for the story anyways.
Aaron Peterson
One of my favorite games of all time. The entire sequence aboard Arsenal Gear is 10/10 kino. Sneaking through the initial area with youtube.com
Carson Peterson
it's the best one
4 is good
Isaac Garcia
My favorite, though i still haven't played 4 and played 5 without any of the tapes
Bentley Hill
>It's just a parade of fanwank
So? The game earned it by making the hero everyone loves have a disease that rapidly ages him. The game has just as much fanwank as it does things that seem like were done to spite fans. Making the poopman get with Meryl is like the exact opposite of fanwank. You get an epic fight with Liquid and Raiden gets his anime redemption arc, but it also turns the goofy radio guys from 3 into the main bad guys of the entire series. Thats what makes MGS4 interesting, its an odd mix of extremes that I haven't seen before or since. I also said it was terrible user, keep that in mind. I just think its a terrible game that has enough interesting shit to make it worth experiencing at least once.

Elder God tier: MG 2, MGS 1, MGS 2
Good tier: MGS 3, MG gameboy
Alright tier: Peace Walker, MGS 5
Shit: MGS 4

I think 3 deserves elder god tier just because The Boss is such a cool character. One of the few genuinely cool female characters in gaming.
Dylan Gray
Nope don't care, not going to get used it.. I uhhhh just ain't gonna do it. Sorry lmao

>I could see the planet as it appeared form space. That's when it finally hit me. Space exploration is nothing but another game in the power struggle between the US and USSR. Politics, economics, the arms race - they're all just arenas for meaningless competition. I'm sure you can see that. But the Earth itself has no boundaries. No East, No West, No Cold War. And the irony of it is, the United States and the Soviet Union are spending billions on their space programs and the missile race only to arrive at the same conclusion. In the 21st century everyone will be able to see that we are all just inhabitants of a little celestial body called Earth. A world without communism and capitalism... that is the world I wanted to see. But reality continued to betray me.
Well? Was she right?

>The Boss is such a cool character
really?
Ryder Green
ok
Lucas Bailey
it's the only one I beat so it's my favorite :)
Dominic Green
Every scene she's in is good to great, and she mommies the fuck out of everyone. She's the only one Volgin shows legitimate respect for.
Mason Russell
4 is garbage. Just pure fanwanking after extracting every little bit of soul the first 3 games had.
Charles Hernandez
It's the game you really shouldn't take seriously despite it being the last game in a series that more or less has been taken seriously up to that point. It offers nothing of value and should be considered non-canon.
Michael Parker
play substance instead
it has skateboarding
Isaiah Stewart
you all loved MGS4 and cried at the end, then you went online and adopted some queers seething rage opinion.
Alexander Roberts
Beautiful sentiment but a pipe dream nonetheless. Corporations (capitalism) or dictators (communism) have won long before you or I were born and they will continue winning long after we're dead.
Jacob Harris
Not at all. I kept thinking this is the last scene, only to get another scene with characters doing dumb stuff. I was actually late to a movie with my family because I was like, well I have an hour before the movie I'll just finish this game and nope, still kept going.
Jacob Allen
BQQM. TRVST THE PLQN!
A STQRM IS CQMING....
Hunter Turner
IS she right though?
Xavier Foster
It's very good, personally I wonder why Yea Forums rates it above 1 and 3. For me 1 has the best pacing and writing, 1 and 3 both have several emotional moments, while 2 only stands out because of the mindfuck plot.
Nathan Ortiz
Sir, this isn't the MGS1 thread.
Dylan Roberts
The meta-narrative in 2 is just too cool, and unique in video games for me. All the flashy spy shit is why I originally love it but all the meta stuff is just the cherry on top.
Hunter Hughes
Nope.
Andrew Cox
I prefer MGS2's gameplay, for one thing.
Sebastian Peterson
I doubt most people would rate MGS2 above 1
Jose Morgan
MGS3 was ranked 2nd all time by Yea Forums last poll
Aaron Reyes
>IS she right though?
Yes. All astronauts say the same thing. You can't see any borders from space. We're all alone on a little rock in the middle of nowhere.
Ian Fisher
MGS2 is just MGS1 with refined gameplay, why are you surprised people think it's superior?
Blake Phillips
That's not true at all. MGS1 has better music, better story
Mason Anderson
KINO.
Do they really all say that?
Carter Myers
MGS1 has very simplistic gameplay compared to 2, and tons of backtracking
it was good for its time but that's it
MGS2 > MGS3 > MGS1
Justin Jones
MGS 2 is my fav, then I'd twin snakes
Levi Powell
>MGS2 didn't have tones of backtracking
I can't tell you how annoyed I got running through those fucking struts
Not to mention the espionage story of MGS1 was way more interesting than the over the top, 2deep4u story of MGS2
Carson Lewis
Yes I've heard this "no borders seen in space" quote from a lot of astronauts being interviewed
Aiden Sullivan
>twin snakes
Thomas Roberts
You can't see borders anywhere retard
Connor Evans
Except on a map, and also the border signs, walls, and maybe military presence
Aiden King
The music isn't even comparable IMO, two completely different types of music to fit the tone of each game. As far as the story goes, thats up for debate. MGS1 has a straight story and it's great, and while MGS2 kind of goes off the rails, the themes in it are fantastic and i don't even need to get into the batshit aspects of it. the games are great companion pieces, I only rank 2 higher because the arcade stealth type gameplay is at its peak.
Grayson Martin
4 has the fight with Liquid Ocelot which makes it worth the slog in my opinion. That is a kino way to wrap up a series.
Jaxon Murphy
It's fanservice
