What was it like?
What was it like?
Shit, like every MMO except FFXIV
a friend and i got to the highest point in one of the first cities thanks to unforeseen parkour collitions, we had a blast to be honest
Not a very good game, but I had fun.
was kind of fun but the devs messed shit up every patch making it hard to get shit done sometimes
bad tone/sense of humor
You added an extra V at the end there
decent idea, good artstyle, meh gameplay.
Was alright, but you were basically paying for a game that was like other games you were already more invested into but with additional gay voiceovers trying to make le hardcore every 30s.
it was neat but the constant "YOU'RE A BADASS" messages got annoying really quickly
I blame entirely the payment model they first introduced. The Devs were such stupid pieces of shit.
It was great in 2017 when all the shit was fixed, but it never recovered.
Combat was fast-paced and fun, space wild west was a nice change from standard fantasy and you had cool mounts like hoverboards and those massive bikes.
The housing was insane, literally the best housing I've ever seen in an MMO (picrel is part of the basement dweller lair I had built)
If this shit came out today people would go crazy over it, after massive uncreative blunders like New World and whatever the fuck is going on with WoW.
Buggy and unoptimized
It didn't help you could just spawn in currency with commands and they did nothing to stop it.
whoever came up with it must have been the stupid kid in class who thought his stupid idea was a game changer but got in trouble with the teacher
Just awful.
The game was alright.
The story and writing was really REALLY REALLY 2k tier.
>LE BADASS! HOLY ****! EPIIIIK!
The characters weren't the worst thing but i hate MMOs because they just MUST add a furry race and that becomes a constant annoyance to everyone around them at all times because furries are obnoxious faggots 24/7 365.
The quest felt like they had no idea where they wanted to lead you and the game wanted to be really like WoW but didn't have the idea to grab players and force them around.
Housing was really fun and i'm always taken aback by the fact most modern MMOs refuse to do housing unless it comes at a sells price for the company.
This game and OSRS are the only games that hit the housing just right for me. (Didn't ever experience housing in FFXIV.)
sexy robot ass
Oh also the combat suffers from the projectile laser light show.
PvP was fucking awful when you have 5-10 red, green, and blue lights flashing all over.
MMO's past the year 2014 have no fucking excuse for instancing outdoor zones.
As soon as I left the tutorial area and saw I was in "Jungle Planet #053" I dropped it. Beside that it was nice, but I can't speak for anything endgame related, obviously.
Oh shit you just made me remember the rat race
And how fucking weird it was the shoved them into tidy whiteys at some point made me bust out laughing and ask on their forums why they were sexualizing the rodents
They made those notskaven dirtier by putting u derwear on them, seriously. Furfags could imagine little rat cocks now instead of sexless murdery little ratbastards
Kino
I thought it was a lot of fun and one of my favorite MMO games. But it got trash and I never finished it.
I'll tell you that the /vg/ was not very long lasting because of them.
/vg/ is a shithole but around 2 months in 5 little furrfags made the whole thread unusable.
It was ERP and literal talks of shit eating.
MMOs really need to keep furry races out of their games but looking at modern WoW shows that they are the biggest conSOOMers of anything shoveled out as long as they can play as their anthro self inserts.
i think one of the main reasons was this. it was zany and reddit tier humour that hurt it the most. I think one of the most important aspects of an mmo is the atmosphere it creates and wildstar couldnt decide what theme it was trying to be
I want Mechari Porn
I miss bugging out the fire elemental for the raid attunement so it killed everyone in the area
those robot grills were nice to look at
>do some comfy leveling in the Exile zones
>really fucking good dungeons even at low level
>get to 20s and get to Whitevale
>absolutely packed with Dominion players
>world PvP for hours as a result
TAKE ME BACK
>except FFXIV
no, that one was shit too
I miss it everyday
cringe, grating, and unfunny
What are you talking about housing in FFXIV is legitimately perfect. Let me guess, Elden Ring would be be better too if it had an easy mode?
i hope all of the space dandy bros are still doing well
Nice job on reading you turbo nigger lmao
it was always shit, but retarded simps got conned by
>cooming to a shit bait waifu
>OMG GUYS THERES GUNS!!!!!
Somewhat related, but I still have someone occasionally harassing me because I was friends/in the same guild with some chua ERPer. I wasn't into that shit at all, but this guy thinks I was and he doesn't like the guy I was friends with or something. He's off his meds.
Also shoutouts to OG wiLd boYz. playing with them and killing anime furries was the most fun I had in this game
what would the harm be in ncsoft releasing it free to play? all that content shelved never to be seen again. its really weird
shit but kinda unique
they'd want to find out how to sell cosmetics first
>what would the harm be in ncsoft releasing it free to play?
Well for one they already tried and it failed
>bro so yeah i was friends with dudes that ate shit but #notallchua!
nah you're 100% guilty as well after this post
wildstar general was probably one of the better mmo generals on /vg/
they did nobody cared
It was fun but ultimately pretty bad. The few raids I did were essentially long hallways of adds, culminating in a "don't stand in the fire" boss. The only interesting fight I remember was some sort of forcefield boss, where one moron had to autistically hit switches all day to redirect the forcefields because the main tank at the helm didn't believe in myths such as proper facing and standing still.
The pvp was the best part, but it was never supported like it should have been, the most fun I had was ganking retards in the open world as a skateboard gang.
I played as a fem mechari medic, wish I kept my screenshots of her, Doc Euthanasia, medics were fun as fuck.
shame the community for wildstar wasn't as zealous as coh otherwise someone would have leaked the source code by now
They took the worse parts of old-school mmorpg gameplay and made it worse. I say this as an Everquest, Lineage 2, and FFXI player. FFXI's ui is pretty shit tho. Aesthetically it was great until you realized all the character's armors were just textured on shit like WoW and everything turned into purple evil shit.
The stats didn't make sense and turning much of the content into uncontrollable RNG along with rewards for perfectionist gameplay was a terrible idea. It also suffered from "I'm sure they'll fix it" syndrome like every other post-wow mmo.
I did like the housing.
There was SO much porn.
Good times. I remember people ran dungeons only to get new furnitures.
The Chua were charming from a lore point of view. They attracted atrocious players like the aforementioned furries tho.
fun game, good artstyle best ERP
CoX code was held hostage for awhile.
it was as if someone tried to make a game that catered exclusively to those wowfags who LARPed that they were much better and hardcore players than they actually were, and chocked the game full of reddit-tier humor
the player housing was top-notch though
>still no private server
even fucking Warhammer Online has a 95% feature complete private server
Just moving around was fun. I liked the subjob or whatever that let you run around at a million mph if you were good enough,
pretty fun, ambitious housing but overall it was a wacky cartoony MMORPG that somehow wanted a hardcore playerbase, the dungeons and 40man raiding with a long attunement quest chain ultimately killed the players push for endgame
true, i was there when the whole thing emerged and then splintered into different groups, that shit was wild
i should play some more.
anyway i doubt someone is secretly hoarding the wildstar code somewhere
>anyway i doubt someone is secretly hoarding the wildstar code somewhere
Other than those gooks at NCSoft.
And then they fucked off and let the game die because they were full of shit.
It's the dev's fault for pandering to the bitchy retards that play MMOs like a job.
