Honestly if you dont plan to pull for every new charachter yes. You can beat most of it with 4* and the free ones. But really getting materials to level up your new 5* are gonna be locked behind hours and hours of story quests, side quests, and dialogue that gets boring really fast. The combat is fine, reactions are sorta fun, but the exploration and the game world and little details are where the game shine.
