The more complex Minecraft becomes, the less I want to play it. It’s strange because I like modded Minecraft, which offers more complexity than regular mc, but the stock game with it’s annoying massive caves with nothing in them, pointless ores and items that aren’t worth the time getting them, like beacons, and the same dull world look, because the game uses the same noise mesh to generate biomes with just gets tedious. The time when this game has been most fun for me aside from mods, is when I first started playing it and making some dumb houses and looking through cave systems trying to find spawners, not knowing what anything was, and playing with my friends. Modern Minecraft just feels lacking, like a game you play for 2 weeks, get overwhelmed by the pointless things that you have to do, then forget about it for the rest of the year. Now that Microsoft has forced me to use a Microsoft account with my phone number, and can easily lock me out of it at any time, I really can’t be arsed to play it.

mojang really missed the mark with the whole deep dark update. The warden was originally gonna be pretty scary and had rotting holes and shit but microsoft stepped in and decided it wasnt kid friendly enough. Which makes no sense to me since minecraft was plenty scary back in 2012 when kids started playing it. Its really too bad.
