It's extremely overrated. If it's in someone's top 5 then you can immediately conclude that they don't know shit about vidya and are the cancer killing the industry

>long, boring, janky escort mission with unintuitive gameplay

>unintuitive
you have no idea what that word means

good thing they got rid of those walking legs. It looked silly

that horned statue at the bridge connecting the two main islands always caught my attention. Only statue you find in the castle

Heal

it's outclassed by SotC on all fronts

Sorry bro it has a low rating on famitsu

likewise, those white curtains in the tower holding Yorda are the only curtains you find

Remake when???

based Ico enjoyer, can't wait to replay on an emulator
out of curiosity, what other games do fellow Ueda Chads enjoy? always curious what people with good taste enjoy

Attached: 1641239552796.png (1280x720, 94.94K)

doesn't need one, a remake could only harm it
Bluepoint fucked up the lighting and the font in the PS3 collection and that was just a simple HD port

Attached: 1648462685013.jpg (467x700, 43.13K)

I was just joking. What I DO want is the release date for Ueda's next game.

Where can read more of those? Too lazy to google the name right now.

Loved Shadow of the Colossus, didn't much like Ico. Escorting the girl (Yorda?) absolutely everywhere gets boring, and the first time I left her alone briefly to go pull a lever, the game spawned enemies which dragged her away. It's a beautiful looking game but I wish they found some other way to add variety besides shadow enemies. To me they're just a chore.

I was planning on getting pic related when I get my PS3, never played either. They look like the kind of games that would very vividly stick with you your entire life if you experienced them young enough, but maybe a bit less impressive 20 years later coming in knowing nothing.

best Ueda villain. She is a creepy abusive mother, and her dialogue shows some of her personality : manipulative, authoritative, liar and a bit racist ("some boy with horns")

Attached: Screenshot_20220412-182616.png (1440x720, 319.31K)

This is that people who pretend to play video games put in their 3x3s to look cool but if you actually played it you'd know that it's a boring movie game.

How's the ps3 port?

I get stuck when playing The Last Guardian very often. Help

Yeah it's a 10/10, just like SotC and TLG.

not perfect but likely the most accessible way to play it
emulate > PS2 > PS3

people have preferences, you can also enjoy a game like Ico and still enjoy a game like Vanquish, it's not an either-or situation

Go back.

the way the light comes out from windows during indoors areas is appealing

The save music is the single most relaxing tune in all of gaming

>"the girl you're with is my one and only beloved daughter"
why did Queen bother pretending to be a good mom knowing that Ico freed her from the cage? He obviously doesn't buy it

for me, it's

>Ico, Silent Hill 2, GTA 3, DMC, MGS2, Halo, Shenmue 2, Melee, Rogue Squadron 2, Super Monkey Ball, Luigi's Mansion, Pikmin, Jak and Daxter, FFX, Fatal Frame
september-december 2001 was insane

this really is one of the most enchanting games in PlayStation brand history

would recommend Abe's Oddysee if you want more PlayStation soul

looking at the artwork and listening to it feels like being inside of a painting

Soundtrack is so fucking good
I generally prefer the Last Guardian otherwise. Still a great game.

visually and atmospherically, it is the greatest kino of all time, unquestionably

gameplay wise, a mediocre 4 or 5/10

Yes

Oonpa!

>Unironically me when I first played the game.
Then again I was also like 10 at the time.

ps3 looks better here. ps2 might look better on a CRT

What about Sotc?

before the thread dies, Ueda Chads
what are 5 of your top favorite games?

Attached: 1580999982-1860768171.png (2259x1792, 3.93M)

yep, unironic 10/10

i've held my little sister's hand plenty of times, does that count?

Attached: 1602618060142.jpg (600x985, 63.52K)

you’d know tranny

10/10 as well, even if I have some minor issues
the HUD shouldn't exist and Dormin repeats the hints too often
it bugs me how Wander draws arrows from thin air but that's pretty harsh considering the tech and I've no idea how they'd really solve that, besides a quiver making it look a bit less weird

Attached: sotc.jpg (3264x2435, 3.02M)

>what? these filters? we can't get these to work
>so fuck it, remove the filters
Blue point are fucking hacks

It's a game you pretend to like to look cultured. The actual game is as boring as it gets.

The Last Guardian
The Witness
Dark Souls 1 (one)
Resident Evil Remake
Dead Space

It's been a long while since I played but I think my rose tinted glasses are off on this one.

I remember the general gameplay loop of exploring, doing a block puzzle, and hitting shadows with sticks. Lots of platforming too.

Although, I think this is one of those games that is hard to recommend but for those who like it, enjoy it. It's not as interactive as other games, but for a 2000s game its pretty atmospheric and makes your mind wander while playing it.

It doesn't rate high on my list. I'd have to replay it again to give it a good review. I also remember a lightsaber? Don't know if it was a cheat code or not.

I thought the last hour or two sucked. It was great up to that point though.

Ico is better than SotC.

Greatest game box art, maybe.

absolutely without a shadow of a doubt, a 10/10 for me. I didn't even grow up with the game either. Picked it up senior year of high school

Attached: 1645071426007.gif (406x406, 2.82M)

Replayed it last week. Yes, it is one of the greatest games ever made.

Tis great

uoh

All Ueda games have been masterpieces. He's the modern day Miyamoto. The problem is that the modern generation doesn't want a Miyamoto. They want Fortnite type shit.

>ICO = people complain about the controls
>SotC = people complain about the controls
>TLG = people complain about the controls
There's a pattern.

i wish i could play the last guardian

>maybe a bit less impressive 20 years later coming in knowing nothing
I wouldn't say so. Ueda's games are highly unique in many aspects, so they're definitely worth playing. However I do believe his audience is very small. There's a chance that you will hate these games.
>coming in knowing nothing
That is DEFINITELY the best possible starting point. I highly recommend not watching any videos on the games or other potential spoilers.
