I want to get into Kirby.
Can I start with the new one on the switch or would it be better to play previous ones first? Would playing previous ones improve the experience of playing through the new one and other newer titles in the series?
I want to get into Kirby
the good thing about kirby is that you can start with about any (non spnoff) game
the only one I wouldn't recommand is kirby dream land 3 but anything else work really
planet robobot super star ultra and the amazing mirror are fan favorites if you really can't decide
Start with the first one
Yeah you can jump into any of them. The games are basically all independent.
Start with Returns for the Wii, then go to Triple Deluxe and Robobot on the 3DS. Skip Star Allies though, it's not as good as the others. Then, I recommend you go play the Dreamland Trilogy + Kirby 64, though you won't have to. 64 is really good though, so at least play that. Then, go play any other ones that catch your interest, like Amazing Mirror, Super Star, Adventure/Nightmare in Dreamland (Since it's a remake), or yeah, even the new game. After those, you should be good from there.
>I want to get into Kirby
You need to have a cool skill that he can use.
Oh yeah? what would Kirby get if he ate
(you)
Depression LMAOOOOO
Thanks anons, I think I know enough about this pink fellow now to begin.
Are all his games easy to emulate though?
Kirby Super Star Ultra for the DS is the ultimate first Kirby game since it's a collection of small campaigns from which you can figure out what style you enjoy.
Kirbys Adventure is a good starting point if you want to start with something more grounded.
Kirbys Return to Dreamland/Triple Deluxe/Planet Robobot are all decent, but similar. Robobot is probably the best one out of them.
Whatever you do, don't play Star Allies first, since it's pretty mediocre and only worth it if you are already a Kirby fan and in it for the endgame and fanservice characters.
You are also totally fine with just playing Forgotten land, it's almost like a soft reboot
If your pc is good enough to run dolphin, then yeah you can emulate just about the Wii and 3DS games. Good luck running Switch though, unless you already have one yourself
alright. post your top 3 favorite abilities then. mine is pic related followed up by Wing and Pole.
1. Tornado
2. Smash
3. UFO
Why yes, Amazing Mirror is my favourite Kirby game, how did you know?
Always start with Super Star.
>Based suplex
Spider was easily my favorite part in Star Allies
Hammer just because
And cutter. I've always had a soft spot for boomerangs
master in the amazing mirror because it make me feel like an ultimate being of destruction
3ds hammer because it's broken
fight because you can be pretty creative with it
The one game that you should NOT begin the series with is Robobot. It's very good but not as a starting point. Otherwise most other games are fine, Super Star and its DS remake usually being recommended but if you want to just jump straight into Forgotten Land there's nothing wrong with that.
1. Hammer
2. Fighter
3. (Not sure if this one counts) Smash Bros. Ability from Planet Robobot
I just beat the main story of Forgotten Land but don't feel inspired enough to do the rest (game is kinda bland and the powerups are meh plus I can't be bothered to replay levels and get 50 tokens in each world).
Does the game have any post-game content worth striving for or nah?
You don't need to know anything to play Forgotten Land. Starting with it is fine.
Gameplay-wise you can start anywhere, the only game that will probably feel weird after playing the others is the very first one in which copy abilities didn't exist; story-wise it is better if you go chronologically so you know what the newer games are referencing, but it is never actually required, each game will give you enough context alone so you understand its story.
>I want to get into Kirby.
me too
This, Star Allies was the end of a sort of arc, Forgotten Land acts as a soft reboot.
why are you like this
start with the new one
then go play kirby 64, dreamland 3, superstar, robobot, dream course in that order
after that, you can play the others in any order
too random for a first play, it doesn't introduce you to popstar
bumping tell me you faggots
this game doesn't warrant 100% if it has nothing exceptional at the end
you're missing out on the true final boss
at least do ultimate arena if you wont 100%
you don't need to get all of the souls in each world, just most of them
the final bosses are kino
1. Sword and its variations
2. Cutter
3. Ice
very good and legit choices.
kirby is standalone on surface. you can just jump in and play the game, though some are easier than others.
it doesn't get bullshit until you get deeper into the story
>tfw taranza effectively killed his lover because he didn't know the mirror was dangerous
1. Yoyo
2. Fire
3. Cleaning
Bumping the Kirby thread
>it doesn't introduce you to popstar
what does it matter? popstar's depiciton is inconsistent in most of the games and doesn't factor into much. It's like getting hung up over which Mario games establish the most about the mushroom kingdom
I love my wife Zan Partizanne!!
3. Throw
2. Suplex
1. Wrestler
bomb
smash from amazing mirror
painter from star allies.
I'm convince that no matter how bad Yea Forums get's, Kirby threads will always be comfy. Because I think most people have no ill will towards the little puff ball
I'm more of a Susie man myself
>recommending RTDL and TD
Kys
What's wrong with those 2 choices, there not the worst ones to recommend
I think that's partly because there are no truly bad kirby games, just some that are not as good as the rest. the other part is that most people who browse kirby threads are smart enough to not respond to obvious bait.
1- Smash
2- Suplex
3- Wheel
i need counterarguments to these
what's wrong with recommending the best two Kirby games for beginners?
But not enough to save the image at full size.
I'll post more of my Zans for you. Please open them in a new tab and remove the 'm' from the URL if you must phonepost.
>stop pulling your argument into other threads
>stop samefagging
pick whichever one would apply to you
Rude
They're both boring and sluggish
Forgotten Land is the perfect place for newcomers. Just keep in mind the rest of the games will be 2D if you want to play more after that.
fuck your zans this is a flamberge thread
but enough about kirby's dreamland 3 and kirby 64
DL3 is faster than Super Star though, just compare those scrolling speeds.
In what sense? They're slower paced, sure, but I wouldn't call them sluggish unless I was an ADHD riddled zoomer.
Flamburger is a burn-out, I prefer a girl with a more electric personality.
she's not cool though
good
Isn't Kirby only faster using Coo?
Nago can be pretty fast too and Kine is really fast in the water. The slowest is probably Chuchu, but her powers and controls are cool anyway.
I am bored so here are my recommendations OP
Move TD down a tier, move Adventure and DL3 up a tier.
