Trying to open end the design of the stages really hammpers the experience. I mean, sure you don't have to go for all the side stuff if you don't want to and the game is pretty much just the 100 stages, but even that feels too much. Could have lowered it to 60 and that would have been fine, just make the stages a little longer, cut out some of the fluff. We didn't need the Claw in the final of Victory Gundam.

Every HD era SRW I've tried has been nothing but dogshit in terms of art and animation. Z3, V, X, T, 30. All trash. The fact that people buy these zero effort rehashes is mind-boggling.

It's a shame that all the good talent got poched to the OG team. I mean, at this point I would rather play the OG games anyway, since I feel like there is only so many ways you can vary the stories of the anime series. There are only a few series that I absolutely love to mess around with at this point and seeing them not in the games feels shit, even worse when they continue to get poor animations.

The entire problem is that they're way too shackled to the source material. At best they work the enemy factions together but all the same story beats happen and the enemy's goals are all the same and play out the same way. The games would be substantially more interesting if they diverged more.

If you like cool ass robots, it could serve as somewhat of an intro to several series at once, given the lexicon is pretty good in the game. But that said, people who at least know some of what each series has in it will get more out of it than someone who doesn't even know what mecha are.
