Normal action game >enemy winds up >enemy attacks >you can influence the enemies attack to your advantage, adding depth
Dark Souls 3 >enemy winds up >enemy feints for 5 seconds allowing you additional hits in >enemy attacks, no overly long combo chains that so you aren't just waiting for your "turn" to deal damage
Elden Ring >fight begins and the enemy is already spazzing out all over the arena >enemy can straight up animation cancel their attacks and just remove windups >enemy throws sword in the air >enemy catches sword in other hand >enemy spins sword around in a circle for a few seconds >enemy throws sword back to other hand >immediately cancels his attack into two more attacks like he's fucking bayonetta >instantly hits you with a random attack from his backside to punish you for rolling behind him so no more openings >throws a flurry of projectiles to punish you for rolling away >hits you with an AOE attack to punish you for rolling toward him >enemy jumps in the air for 50 more variations of an AoE, flipping in the air doing 360° noscopes, flails around like he just got a dose of heroin, does 10 different cartwheels in a row, and finally stops attacking for a rare move that has an opening >then proceeds to continue 10 different combos for 5 more moves >and all you can do against this while they act like shonen anime characters is just wait around dodge-rolling
What the fuck went wrong with Elden Ring? How did From Software fuck up this bad? How did we go from Sekiro to this shit?
normal action game: easy dark souls 3: slightly challenging Elden ring: challenging with a wide variety of tests of reaction speed, depth and complexity.
of course Yea Forums is still crying about the difficulty of souls games in 2022
consider one of these following games OP:
Assassins creed Far Cry 5 Horizon Forbidden West Any Spider-man game Agario
Nicholas Parker
you're correct, the (artificial) difficulty design of ER is trash. it isn't fun to roll 15 times before you're allowed to attack once.
simply play better action games. God Hand and Nioh 2 are my favorites.
Kevin Mitchell
What is going on here? Why can this guy cancel out of animations by dodging? Why can he dodge the last millisecond of attacks and they clip through him with no damage? Why is he not getting staggered? Why are his iframe windows so long?
If you learn the hitboxes you can attack during their combos instead of waiting for them to stop attacking entirely. Hope that helps :^)
Kayden Martinez
>you can attack during their combos With a Ultra Greatsword that leaves you entirely open?
Jonathan Perry
not possible for fast aggressive bosses such as in OP :) hope you enjoy licking miyazaki's cum off the floor. I beat every other souls game and this one's almost as big of a turd as ds2.
Anthony Perry
wow you discovered summons and magic are op? First from game?
