He simply followed the grace. Every NPC mentioned in the opening were trying to become Elden Lord, at least until they found their own goal in life, and you the player, end up carrying on their ideals (i.e. dungeater wants to curse the world, goldmask wants to give complete control to the golden order, fia wants everyone to live in death, etc.)

There's multiple dialogues in the game that tell you who he is. There's also like 3 more in the ashen capital. Play. The. Game.

Sometimes you guys get caught up so hard in the lore autism that you fail to even understand what the game is trying to tell you

What do you think are better? All the boss fights in DS2 were horrible except Sinh, Fume Knight and Alonne. Bloodborne bosses were all pretty good but I didn’t play the DLC. In the main game I thought Moon Presence and Gehrman were the best.

Then you add Dung Eater to the mix, your chances of winning drastic go down. See the 3 way at The Erdtree, you got a 33 1/3 chance of winning, but I, I got a 66 and 2/3 chance of winning, because Dung Eater KNOWS he can't beat me and he's not even gonna try!
So Hoarah Loux, you take your 33 1/3 chance, minus my 25% chance and you got an 8 1/3 chance of winning at The Erdtree. But then you take my 75% chance of winning, if we was to go one on one, and then add 66 2/3 per cents, I got 141 2/3 chance of winning at The Erdtree.
