Why so Hugo can put is faggot 40k s oy marine faggotry in it? Nah.

Yes, because I really want Halo to turn into another 200kph movement/twitch shooter.

Sounds based. It is the real way to push the series forward rather than turning it into COD.
Halo was always a slow Arena shooter, just speed it up

>Yes, because I really want Halo to turn into another 200kph movement/twitch shooter.
That is exactly what I want.

>having id waste time on gaylo over doom
no thanks, halo deserves what it's getting

Attached: raygun.jpg (586x582, 43.53K)

Halo should go to Ubisoft.

the only halo game that can even somewhat be described as an arena shooter is CE

what are 2 and 3

He's the only one who can save Halo.

shat up by full on regenerating health and inferior level design in multiplayer

nuDoom sucks zoomer faggot.

Awwww, grandpa couldn’t keep up?

not nearly as gay as nuhalo

>Infinite gets back on track with Chief doing Reclaimer stuff so humanity can become the next Forerunners
>Eternal turns Doom into Avengers crap and ruins the entire lore of the series just to do it.

>story
holy shit the modern halo fan is even worse than 20 years ago

nigga no one gives a single fuck about halo's story

After Zoom: Eternal? Lol, no. Halo doesn't need Mario platforming either. Instead, they should give Halo to Monolith after they're done with Wonder Woman. Blood, NOLF, FEAR; you know they're perfect for the job.

>Halo Infinite cost more than all previous halo games combined
>Has less content than any one of them
SOMEONE FUCKING EXPLAIN THIS
WHAT WERE THEY DOING FOR 6 YEARS AND HALF A BILLION DOLLARS?

microsoft has a serious problem with project direction across their first parties, 343 is probably the worst of the bunch in that regard

90% to marketing

fundamentally what is wrong with infinite? I'd honestly like to know. don't mention f2p or cosmetic stuff. I'm talking gameplay. Because I've been playing it and it feels great. But I'm not well versed in fps as I'm sure a lot of you are.

>he ironically says this as a Doomfag

They do to a degree but before Infinite, they went too far with it and took it into an uninteresting garbage direction.

Snoy post

It’s not a Snoy game, that’s literally it.

no one cares about infinite's story or its campaign, actually no one cares about infinite in general anymore

>Starting weapons are too powerful so there isn't much of a reason to traverse the map looking for better guns
>Not enough content (no forge, no co-op, 30% of the maps the other halo games had)
>Bad map design
>Campaign has very little content, only one biome and is empty
>Horrible writing
>Horribly optimized

Seethe retard, I have been playing Halo since 1

Infinite had multiple lore videos and many people are interested on where’s it going and what’s coming next, only ones crying are Snoys like they’ve been doing since the game released back in December.

So have I, ON XBOX

so did doom eternal, there are lore videos of every type of retardation ,doesn't mean anyone cares

>Horribly optimized
>playing on PC

343 shill post. They ruined the most popular franchise in gaming.
Halo infinite has the same amount of people playing as MCC

Yes retard, there is no reason to buy an xbox if you aren't retarded

Halo has better story and lore than Doom, what Doom did have it screwed up completely.

It's horribly optimized on xbox too considering it's frame rate yet bad graphics

>the most popular franchise in gaming
lmao, zoomers actually believe this.

>playing Halo on anything but an Xbox and calling yourself a fan

It literally was in the early 2000s newfag. Halo 2 and 3 were both the fastest selling games ever when they released

Yes. Sorry, I'm not retarded.

>Playing a game on a worse system makes you a "fan"

>Halo has better story and lore than Doom, what Doom did have it screwed up completely.
no one gives a shit about the story of either games, what's important is that the gameplay in eternal takes a massive dump over infinite, both in terms of quality and quantity

>lol Halo isn't one of the most popular franchises ever created!
>now, back to pretending to mourn for games and genres that Halo killed before I was a twinkle in the eye of several potential fathers...

I've played through every single halo game on Co op why no fucking Co op in infinite?

Mother fucker, even then Halo wasn’t as big as shit like Mario, Zelda, Sonic, MGS, Smash, Street Fighter, Halo was big here in the US but even here in the US it couldn’t beat bigger games, Mortal Kombat was bigger than Halo and it got a movie and animations, meanwhile it took until Reach to get an Anime Japs barely gave a shit about and now a terrible woke TV series that Hollywood is tearing apart. You zoomers are the delusional generation who’s better off keeping their mouths shut.

user you don't get it. 500 million and 6 years just isn't enough time

>The fastest selling game in human history up to the point of release
>B-Bro it's not that big of a deal

Sure why not. It's not as if id didn't copy most of Halo's mechanics anyway.

This is irrelevant to the discussion of whether it's an area shooter, boomer.

Like what?

Work at MSFT. Teams here are generally inefficient because everybody's coasting. I can't imagine it's that different at 343.

Doom Eternal’s gameplay is dogshit.

>zoomer doesn’t know his history
I wonder why people make fun of us Halo fans.

I guess if you're a halo player who can't play anything that involves a character moving beyond 5 MPH with absurd aim assist, I can see why you'd find eternal's gameplay to be bad

>Microshit too fucking incompetent to make a good Halo game, the easiest layup in gaming.
>"I know! Hurr duurrr...uhhh....Bethesda can fix it!!!"

Not an argument retard

Id, not bethesda.

I'm convinced the people who unironically say this need to be exiled to Youtube comment sections. Doom and Halo are only superficially similar. If your experience of playing Halo is anything like your experience of playing Doom you're either braindead or absurdly bad at one (or both) of the games.
Halo is based around sandbox and environmental interaction. Doom is based around personal utility. Halo can be fast, but it also needs to be able to slow things down for the atmosphere and story context of an area to seep in. Halo has vehicular combat and grounded lore (if at times giving up immersion for gameplay, like plasma damage values). Doom's lore feels like an afterthought (and Eternal's literally feels like detriment). Halo's difficulty comes from compensating for resource scarcity and even average Elites on Legendary are meant to be challenging if you don't cheese encounters. Eternal's difficulty comes from resource management and enemy control, and outside of heavies and ultras individual enemies are fodder. Halo's aesthetic, informing all of its design down to its precision weapon-focused gameplay, is about a supersoldier being as efficient as he possibly can while dismantling an overwhelmingly superior enemy force. Doom's aesthetic is about a rage monster showing off as he obliterates everything in his path.
Halo can't be saved by id. At best id could be brought on to fine tune the core shooting mechanics, but anyone can do that. The best people to save Halo's single player are immersive sim devs. Arkane could probably create a great Halo campaign (Prey for example is closer to a good Halo game than Doom Eternal ever was). Then id could come in and fine tune the actual shooting.

A competent FPS dev can make a competent FPS even if it's a different type of FPS. See Monolith Productions

This, the thread ended here.

The Halo TV series spent over a decade in development hell, you mongoloid. Regardless of what you think of its quality it's arriving twelve years after the last Halo not considered to be universally shit, and that's because the powers behind the scenes couldn't get their shit together, not because interest wasn't there.

>Mario, Zelda
If that level of success is the bar for popularity (and sure as you were born - after 2000, that is) then nothing can ever be considered a smash hit ever again.

>Sonic, Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat
A game that more or less justified its console's existence in a marketplace otherwise cornered by superior alternatives (a better Halo parallel there could not be) and a genre that flashed in the pan for about 3 years on home consoles doesn't hold up to the legacy of the series that singlehandedly killed off the rest of the genre due to its monumental level of success.

>Smash
Failed to justify the existence of its consoles as Sonic did for the Genesis and more to the point Halo did for the Xbox.

Stop regurgitating shit you read on youtube retrospectives. Christ, Halo is 20 fucking years old; you can lose the "baby's first FPS" chip on your shoulder already, more time has passed between the release of CE and now than time had passed between the release of CE and goddamn Super Mario Brothers.

A competent FPS dev can also fail to make a competent FPS even if it's the same type of FPS. See Monolith Productions with FEAR 2.
And if you're saying that it's just a competent dev that you're looking for then id is far from the "only" dev to bring up in this conversation. My point is that if you're looking at Doom's design principles to inform how high quality a supposed id game would be you're an idiot.

>and outside of heavies and ultras individual enemies are fodder.
but that's wrong, the most dangerous enemy in eternal are spirits follow by mauraders who are not heavies nor bosses

>legacy of the series that singlehandedly killed off the rest of the genre due to its monumental level of success
How the hell is this a good thing, it’s a wonder why Halo CE was Bungie’s only good Halo game.

Id saved the DOOM franchise by being innovative. They have proven that they are good FPS devs. Out of everyone Microsoft owns, Id is the best for the job

No one ever said it was.

regenerating health is good you retard and allows for pros to dominate.

what non-regenerating health does is allow for bad players who can't get kills eventually get "attrition" kills on players they can't otherwise beat normally.
If you've ever gotten an overkill in any Halo slayer match just to die to the 1st guy who re-spawned before your shield even finished charging after fighting the 4th guy, you'll know what I mean. Halo CE even having medkits in the first place was retarded. It makes sense for campaign to increase the difficulty but for multiplayer Bunige was wise to phase it out.

>having to manage less resources and play less smart allows for pros to dominate
no, with regenerating health there's no difference between surviving a fight with 1% hp or 99% hp, with static health you need to be smart about every single encounter, not just smart enough

>Id saved the DOOM franchise by being innovative
lmao, I’ll give them credit at least for getting the FPS genre out of the rut Halo 2 put it in at least.

>regenerating health is good
Imaging being this retarded and knowing so little about game design kek.
No regenerating health isn't good. It limits enemy and enemy design as well as discourages mobility.

That's funny since the multiplayer FPS without health regen are the best ones ever made while the opposite is true for ones with regen.

>2fag
Regenerating health dumb down the game.
