i get where you're coming from but theres good pixelated graphics out there, MOST indie games make really poor use of it cause the hack devs dont care but still, look at retro games and stuff like disgaea, those are pixels yet they look good, theres a lot of good pixel art in retro games done by competent people who actually give a fuck

What sort of 2D styles would you prefer? High resolution hand-drawn art isn't an answer. Indies can't afford that shit, lol. Even if they're primarily an artist and doing it themselves, they simply wouldn't have the time.

I consider spritework to be more like puzzlesolving than actual art. You just have to make it close enough to what it's suppose to represent so that your brain can fill in the rest of the details.

I could make a great looking pixel art game if I wanted. I'm just too much of a procrastinating shit to finish anything. But, ya know, hypothetically speaking. If I did finish a project, it would look great.

Generally speaking, I think most people could make half decent pixel art if they studied painting principles. A lot of newbie artists study from cartoon drawing tutorials. Which is a different bag of tricks than what they need to understand pixel art.

You are in luck - Journey mode has the option to just stop taking damage and never die.
Master mode is just more damage taken so it’s really not much different.
