Honestly I could fully see this. He has one role that he can rely on for money that lets him be a goofball for the entire time, doesn't have to put up with auditions, and the movies won't be winning any awards so he can skip the yearly Hollywood circle jerks. I can see him doing two or three more Sonics before calling it quits for good.
