cool
Is it even good? Have the itch to play something where you create an entire party, but don't really like this dungeon crawling from the ego perspective.
Yeah it is, I'd say the 2nd game is even better too.
It's one of my favorite RPG series because it's raw gameplay and active combat. No 50 hours of cutscenes or interrogation type dialog like Kotor or nuShadowrun.
Its actually pretty cool. Recommend the 2nd game though as its alot more polished and has more variety in everything opposed to just being a massive dungeon.
I got to the part with the invulnerable shielded eldritch guys and I was too afraid to play anymore. I had a lot of fun with the game though.
after Remedy dropped the ball with Alan Wake and Quantum Break, the creators of LoG1/2 are my favorite finnish developers
Are there any good Grimrock mods?
I loved this game, the ending and opening cinematics were kino
>ADHD zoomer complains there's dialogue in a RPG
Maybe im just a brailet but i really like how they made the secrets and puzzles in the two games require actually thinking but at the same time not so much you'll have to look up some faggot guide.
This, they're pretty good games for this reason.
why is Ned Stark part of the gang?
>calling people who want to play a game instead of watching a shitty movie a "zoomer"
Sorry I upset you, RPG stories suck. I can't name a good one.
Cool, I check it out if it's on sale at some point.
fucking great game
one day i will finish 2
Any other games similar to this and 2? I've been playing mods for 2 which are great but I want something new. LoG3 WHEN?!
thanks for posting this i just bought both for six bucks. I never check my wishlist,
>movie
Dialogue is gameplay though, retard. You can bribe your way out of encounters in new Shadowrun games and get different outcomes from dealing with a situation
I really really wanna play a dungeon crawler after beating SMT: SJR a few weeks ago.
Is this game a good choice?
Is the 2nd better for that?
no one cares kill everyone you know and then yourself
It's a good ass dungeon crawler, both games are good but 2 is more polished. Also consider Etrian 3 (best in the series) or 4 (most accessible for noobs)
'member the cripple who asked them to include the movement arrows in 2's UI then had the nerve to ask for a free copy when they did it? i member
Stonekeep. That's a classic favorite, although buggy.
Great games, but the second one basically invalidates the first.
Yeah, I personally love when the gameplay stops for 30 minutes so I can exhaust the dialog of some hobo cooking fish on a barrel fire. Really sticks with me.
nigger this is like saying unlocking your car door isn't the same as driving. all acts are equal. take your fucking meds.
pretty sure there are quite some options of attacking immediately if one wants to, you're basically sperging out because a roleplaying game allows you to have choices in dialog, maybe you just don't like roleplaying
I love roleplaying, I don't love being forced to stop playing for a half hour just to listen to some guy tell me how he likes his fish.
I have it but never played it.
user... it's literally 80% off right now.
store.steampowered.com
the bundle for both games is 5 bucks.
>buying things
Ehh, I'd still recommend playing through the first one too so you can better appreciate the QoL shit in 2, it's not like the first one is bad or anything like that.
Any other games like this?
Oh fuck are they Finnish?
Say what you want about those Fins but damn do they know how to make a good game on a budget.
>LoG
>Baba
>Noita
>clicking through text options
>gameplay
Pick one
Is the first one worth getting or should I just skip to 2?
I hope you find contentment one day user.
REMINDER
Yeah I'm definitely not saying the first is bad, both are great. But the second is so much better.
I played 2 before 1 and I agree with that the second one completely invalidates the first. Not just for the QoL updates, but the variety of locations in 2 blows 1 out of the fucking water.
>Beaches, Forests, River Ruins, Swampy Ruins, Pyramids, Haunter Graveyards, and more
versus
>10 floors of stone dungeons
>LOG3
The devs of Legend of Grimrock made a game called druidsomething, Druidstone? and it didn't sell so well, I'm afraid they might go belly up
I hope you choke on your spit.
it was half of the devs or something, not really the same team.
also it was depressingly boring, a scripted puzzle game pretending to be an SRPG where you can't win levels the first time because of random events that occur halfway through
I hope you choke on my spit.
now we're fucking talking what's your kik
This was a good game. The drawbacks are that you are forced a party of 4. And you have to play all four in a single square tile. Weird system, could have been done with a single guy, just not as much emphasis on extremes. Would also be nice if they ever upgrade to first person chivalry dark souls game.
>choosing how to handle a situation
>different options have different results
>options tied to character builds (engineer-type class has optional insight and resolutions tied to his class/role)
>not gameplay
There are some really good mods for Grimrock 2, especially Lost City (bigger and harder than the base game). 1 has some good mods too but not really any point to playing them at this point I think
only on Yea Forums someone would look at an image like this and think
>I bet I can get (you)s out of this
Was fun until it turned into a dumb square dancing clickfest
I'll check out Lost City
Because that's how that genre of RPG, aka dungeon crawler, is and always has been. Grimrock was specifically a callback to 80s/90s "blobbers" like Dungeon Master.
Vaporum is single-character. Good game, although Grimrock is still better.
>1 has some good mods too but not really any point to playing them at this point I think
Didn't someone remake the original Dungeon Master in it? I'd say that's a good reason considering it's another good game.
Why are they called blobbers?
Your party moves as one, like a blob.
sent you a DM ;)
Isn't this the Underworld Ascendant of blobbers?
isn't that game considered bad? No, LoG games are very good at what they do and some would argue they're superior to the games they were inspired by
>legend of grimrock 3 never ever
