I have over 200 hours in ER and I still think Sekiro is the better game
Elder Ring is a try to normize Souls series
too difficult?
Grind + here 100 mechanics that allow you to win without fight
About to finish my second playthrough of Elden Ring and already made a character for my third. The final boss is a complete piece of shit.
ER is great in the same way the DS games are great, there's a million ways to tackle most obstacles and some of them amount to journomode. As an experience Sekiro is way tighter, more streamlined and well directed but as a full package ER blows it out of the water on shit like build variety alone.
I would consider Sekiro an amazing game and I'd say if you like a more open-ended 'do whatever the fuck you want' kind of game give ER a go, but don't expect it to be as tight as Sekiro because it just isn't.
Source: platinumed both, if that means anything to anyone
ER is far more generalized in pretty much every single way. Thats not necessarily a bad thing depending on who you ask. But it is the truth.
After over 160 hours in ER im itching to play sekiro again
135 hours and probably done with the game
Beat it melee only and started a second playthrough
I just can't justify spending more and more time on a game I like less
There is probably three games worth of content in one in Elden Ring, but I don't like any of it anywhere near as much as Sekiro
Sekiro also has the best combat and best movement. Bizarrely its movement is even better than Elden Ring when Elden Rings should have been better for being open world
There are no moments in Elden Ring that fill you with the same sense of surprise and joy as woo guy or owl's fakeout submission or chained ogre being a wwe wrestler
Sekiro has soul out the ass like no other From game
hello
Yeah Elden ring ain't it chief, it's basically like playing sekiro but without the kino cling clang combat, meaning the bosses can read your input and are fast with large combos but you are stuck with iframes dodge roll and stamina management.
>Uses anti air deathblow
goodbye.
>Have you played elden ring yet?
Beat all the content i could find in 150 hours
>did you like it or hate it?
I really liked some aspects of the game but i have absolutely no desire to play it again in the future. In fact beating er made me reinstall sekiro.
OP here
What if I didn't like the Dark Souls games but enjoyed the BB fast paced sidestep counter attack gameplay.
Where would you put it on a scale of clunkiness from DaS1 to BB?
>There are no moments in Elden Ring that fill you with the same sense of surprise and joy
radahn?
I'm going to wait until Elden Ring is cheap and full of DLC and then pirate it despite the cheapness.
does it play exactly like DaS3? How much stamina does a roll use in ER?
Sekiro will never get a sequel no matter how many threads you make about it.
It's basically ds3 in terms of clunk so that's slower than both BB and sekiro, though it gave you some extra moves like guardcounter, shadowstep on basically every weapon if you want it and jump attacks you'll still be locked into 2 sec weaponswing animations while trying to conserve stamina to roll
>does it play exactly like DaS3?
Yes but now you can jump and crouch.
>How much stamina does a roll use in ER?
Depends on the weapon and what attack you use but generally speaking light weapons barely consume stamina and it regenerates almost instantly.
>too difficult?
>Grind + here 100 mechanics that allow you to win without fight
you could do that in every souls game
I started playing in march.
I beat Inner Father after doing shura recently.
I'll play Elden Ring eventually... probably.
I can't wait for the new Armored Core game :)
Big if true, those "leaks" look like a mobile game tho.
Haven't bothered playing it yet, waiting for (a) sale (b) bugs fixed (c) performance improved
I'll probably be waiting a long time, because tbqh I don't want to go back to souls gameplay after playing sekiro
I played through ds1 for fun fairly recently, and it was fun but a bit boring. Played ds2 and got seriously bored straight away. Dunno how long elden ring would interest me with the exploration when the core combat gameplay is just about as boring as ever
ps4/ps5 exclusive hopefully
SHE WON
SHE OUTSMARTED THE WOLF AND LET HIM KILL THE KID
SHE HAD KEY INFORMATION AND DID NOTHING
SHE WANTED THE KID OUT OF THE WAY
SHE DIDN'T EVEN GOT HIS HANDS DIRTY
She didn't want wolf to die.
I haven't liked any of the souls games but I like Sekiro and I've liked what I've played of ER. That said out of the two I prefer Sekiro, if ER didn't have from software combat and wombo combo bosses I'd probably like it more.
She wanted the shinobi D even if a kid was the ultimate price to pay. Predators do that kind of thing with the litter of their partners.
>Dunno how long elden ring would interest me with the exploration when the core combat gameplay is just about as boring as ever
It's serviceable and the open world and exploration keep interest long enough that it isn't boring, after you completely the capital the game starts to drag and that feeling doesn't go away until you finally beat it.
Sekiro is one of my GOATs but I'm really enjoying Elden Ring. It has a feeling of Tolkien/The Silmarillion mixed with Warhammer 40K
100 hours in about 70% into my 1st playthrough, Its barely holding my interest. Honestly it's extremely underwhelming so far. I haven't touched it in 3 days, just don't feel anything much towards it. PvP is fun tho
Still haven't gotten around to Nipponsouls because it looks like it has no build variety. I like playthrough souls games because I enjoy making hybrid characters, but Sickerrow looks like, "What if we forced you to be a dexfag".
You'll love Bloodborne
Bros I just got Sekiro I'm getting filtered by the Shinobi Hunter and getting to him everytime is a drag.
Am I gonna make it if I keep at it?
Yes. Good luck don't give up
I'm not buying a ps4
God damn this is some good bait.
Yes.
Hesitation is defeat
sekiro has by far the superior gameplay and combat
elden ring has incredible world building and exploration elements
Don't bother with Elden Ring. It's garbage.
You need to stealth around, use mikiri counter
I had to look him up because he's unmemorable. I think he was a pain in the ass for me too. General advice for sekiro is be aggressive in like 80% of fights. You can counter anything that's not a grab (assuming you have mikiri counter unlocked).
>Exploration elements
It's exploration "elements" are no different than any other souls game.
Once the honeymoon phase is over more people will realize that Elden Ring is a 7/10 at best. Normies and newcomers will continue to say its a masterpiece when that title belongs specifically to Sekiro and Bloodborne.
As a STRchad, SeKlNO is the better game. Ring is absolutely not worth 60, I picked it up for 15 on Amazon and it was barely worth it. Keep playing as the gigaboss Wolf who loves Kuro and wait until at least a half off sale before playing as a Type ABgenderfluid mess.
I had a fantastic time with Sekiro. It was one of my most enjoyable gaming experiences and the idea of playing it again is horrendous. I can't explain it.
I really like a lot of it, just not the combat that much which is unfortunate because, well you know.
I started playing two days ago. Got to Genichiro easy as pie but now I'm having a hard time. Seems like half the battle I'm pressing the parry button like I'm playing a rhythm game. I know I must be doing something wrong, but I can't quite put my finger in it.
I've got 260 hours in ER, actually 100%ed it this weekend, and openly admit Sekiro is the better game. ER was a great experience but Sekiro is just a tighter package with better mechanics.
DS3 had better combat to be honest. The extra added charm of movesets being weapon specific rather than being able to replace any and everytihng
I beat Elden Ring 4 times and it made me want to come back to Sekiro and Bloodborne.
I'm having a lot more fun playing Sekiro charmless and am looking forward to Bloodborne even though I have to hook my PS4 up to my monitor.
Elden Ring is worth 1 (one) playthrough and it loses its charm.
The fight against Genichiro on top of Ashina Castle is better than any Elden Ring fight.
Dying 40 times to a boss in Sekiro feels like my fault and I make a break through every time, I enjoy it even though I'm losing. Elden Ring is just frustrating and feels cheap.
Play aggressively, it's not a souls game where you wait forever for openings. It's half about going aggro, half about being a deflection rhythm game to break your enemy's posture.
NG+ sword saint is a fucking joy to fight, can't wait for isshin shura in ng++, love this game
BEGONE
DS3 to ER just is
>R1 R1 R1
But this time its
>L1 L1 L1
*L2
Watching this makes me want to play Sekiro again so badly.
What about this is bait? It's my opinion.
The miniboss in Hirata, right? He beat the ever loving shit out of me too. Stay frosty and get your Mikiri Counter, he's basically the tutorial for that.
That feeling of satisfaction you get from the red circle appearing and just obliterating them dead-center with the blade is almost unbeatable from any other game I've played.
God I love this game
Elden Shit Ring is garbage, never replaying, thank God I pirated it, it was so bad that it made me put FromSoftware on my Black List, I will pirate all their future games, I doubt they will ever make a game as good as Sekiro and Bloodborne ever again. Tanimura ruined FromSoftware.
