The comic panel cutscenes are probably going to be replaced with proper cinematics, maybe they'll keep some of that stuff in loading screens or something for flavor. Also it's 100% going to have an over the shoulder camera.
It's going to be a cover shooter like the third one, also all this
What characters will be blackwashed?
Mo more Sam Lake face

my life
There will be over-the-shoulder because console players need their aim mode for zooming in and lowering sensitivity due to having objectively inferior gameplay and feedback interfaces. And everyone will suffer for it. (with the option of pressing a button so you can suffer from the other side!)
if you think the third one is a cover shooter you got filtered.
boo hoo cry more
Mona shower scene will be completely removed.
>boo hoo
Literally crying in your own post and there are no other instances of crying on the thread. Good job.
If they make him look like him and not Sam Lake in MP1 I'm gonna SHIT
Oh no...is that...a FEMALE body??? AAAAAH REMOVE IT REMOVE IT
I think they're in a weird spot. Remaking any other game with shitty 6th gen in engine cutscenes there'd be little thought to throwing them in the trash, but the stills are so fundamental to 1 and 2's style that any major departure is going to seem like a hackjob. There's some stuff they could definitely clean up in 1 but I'm not sure where there's really room in 2. On the other hand the stills are so overbearing to the moment by moment beats that keeping them would be a straightjacket.
It will erase the amateur feeling of it all, is going to suck.
>hope
trim the shitty parts from 3's gameplay while expanding on what made it special

alterations made that allow 3 to be canon

I’m actually feeling good about the comic strips staying if only because they’re remaking both at the same time and releasing them in a single package. Got to find a way to cut costs somehow, what better way than not having to spend so much on mocapping and animating cutscenes?
Ever since playing the game for the first time, I never got the feeling of it being amateurish. Its design philosophy is a perfect example of "less is more" -and the fact that most of the story was done in graphic novel panels never seemed like cheap trash for me. When you really think about it, what had you seen in games before that? Pretty horrible-looking pre-rendered CGI, cringeworthy FMVs or clunky ingame cutscenes. Max Payne 1 didn't do anything worse. It was either all as bad or better. And when it comes to gameplay, it was actually revolutionary. Nothing about the game screams low budget at all.
They will probably go with the younger McCaffrey.
Just keep switching between taking cock in your ass and cock in your mouth. Why bother with alternatives such as not taking cock?
They should have all three and let the player pick.
What way, white man?
I think they'll use some deepfake voodoo to create new stills with the old likenesses and replace stuff like the filler in engine snapshots, give mona more material, etc. I don't think they'll get rid of sam in 1 but they'll replace vlad and mona with their versions from 2.
It will delete the early 00's soul
Sam will get his waifu to play Mona, screencap this post
Amateurish in the sense that it was clearly made by some dudes with limited resources but with passion and talent behind it.
every still that isn't just sam lake is a neckbeard in a halloween costume or someone's sister/mom.
Guess again.
>Everyone in this city suffers.... but the people most affected are trans people of color.
oh boy i can't wait
it will miss the chees kino

Also remaking the cutscenes in CGI would cut THE most iconic element in the whole series and I very much doubt that Remedy is dumb enough to go there. I'm betting that they'll have the panels remade by an actual graphic novel artist, it'd seem like a much more logical choice and still make for a nice "check this out, it's like the old game but with a real budget" flex.
I love it
who would be the funniest debora wilson recast? Vlad? Bravura?
Considering the average game of that time, it doesn't feel amateur, even ignoring that it was a technical marvle.
Some of the enemy placements in 1 were cheap since you pretty much have to use bullet time at just the right moment to get through without being hit. A lot of trial and error. They'll probably scale down the difficulty.
Woden, she got the chemo therapy look for the second one down to a t.
I take comfort in knowing that Empress will cut through the DRM for this game because of "her" massive hate boner for Rockstar.
>In 1991 I was a part of a special research project with Nicole Horne

The original game didn't have any FMV cutscenes (beside a really bad opening intro) because the game shipped on one CD originally, and is an 800MB install . Also, Max Payne used primarily .jpg textures to keep the file sizes down. A lot of storage went to the audio tracks. They probably are going to do something FMV-like, because Remedy has invested a lot in live action. But, maybe they will try to blend the graphic novel art style with live action FMV.
actually a good idea
the blackface will be censored

The original voice for Gogniti is classic. I love how high pitched it is.
I just know they'll butcher the crap out of my man candyman. I just know it. I'm betting 100 million american dollars they'll make him browse 4candy or make some allusion to inceldom because his taste in clothing is too good and offends the sensibilities of modern media.
Was Control or Quantum Break behind any DRM?
I have Control from gog, so I assume it's clean. If remake will be behind DRM then fuck 'em.
>unger McCaffrey.
Since Remedy is making this game for Rockstar, I would imagine that they will have to keep continuity with Max Payne 3. James McCafrey was the facial likeness for MP3 as well as the voice. Hard to say if they will use him for a younger Max Payne, maybe for the voice?
I'm guessing this will have Rockstar's implementation of DRM since they're publishing it. Although chances are that this won't have anything major DRM wise since the GTA trilogy remake was cracked by some small timer scene members day one. I pray to god they don't go with Denuvo if anything.
He was in Alan Wake and Control, safe to say McCaffrey's coming back for this too.
what? he's already the voice in all of the games why would they either recast him or pay him to re record all of the lines? the only question is about how he's going to look
Who was candyman? I don't remember that name.
>Denuvo
Yeah, I'm not paying for anything with that shit attached
>why would they either recast him or pay him to re record all of the lines?
In 2021, James McCaffrey and Sam Lake did this for the 20th anniversary of Max Payne:

I mean, I wasn't sure if he is coming back for the visual likeness, or just the voice? It seems like they would want an actor for any live action cutscenes. Remedy has been putting in FMV since Alan Wake. American Nightmare had all those live action Mr. Scratch scenes. Quantum Break was a weird TV show and game project. etc. So I would imagine that FMV cutscenes may end up being in Max Payne 1 and 2 remake. Maybe dub over the live action actor with James McCaffrey?
Vinnie Gognitti apparently. For some reason that single comic strip where he gets called candyman is stuck in my head forever and I can't think of him as having a name.
Actually FMV could work as a substitute for comics, assuming they can replicate the spirit of the game.
>doomerfaggots thinking they'll remove the comics
Have you played 3?
black chicks name? she's fucking hot
who the fuck cares, alan wake was mediocre at best and it only went downhill from there. current remedy got naught in common with themselves from mp2 days.
The game not made by Remedy?
seconded
Yes.
>3
It was rockstar garbage
>black chicks name? she's fucking hot
Monakisha Suxx
You not liking or caring about suddenly doesn't magically make that apply to everyone else.
Why does it need a remake? The original is still fantastic.
im simply stating that the remedy label is a seal of no quality.
So they can pull the old games from all digital stores and force you to buy the remake in their launcher
>Actually FMV could work as a substitute for comics, assuming they can replicate the spirit of the game.
I think they would use FMV because well, look at every other Remedy game made after Max Payne 2. But hard to say. I think if they did do something with FMV, it could look like Sin City, but in colour. Actors on stylized digital BG's, some sort of filtering used to give it a gritty look.
A fair statement
Without Sam Lake as Max it will never be kino like the original. He was replaced by a generic handsome action Holywood white guy which was cringe
Max Payne 3 was fucking incredible and as good as 1 and 2. I'm looking forward to this as playing 1 and 2 on modern PCs is a payne in the ass.
Cinematic section because it's too hard
Works on my machine.
>white
Lmao

Hope they reuse this as a tease again, with new tech and visuals
>Why does it need a remake? The original is still fantastic.
I consider the PC versions to be the definitive Max Payne games. The home console ports were not bad. The PS2 version of max Payne did get a re-release on PSN running at 60fps and with higher a higher screen resolution. Pick up the Steam versions, before they get desisted. Though, the Steam versions are also DRM free and run independently from Steam itself.
