Here's a tip for new retards, several bosses are programmed to punish you for backing away and healing. Heal at the end of one of their combos, instead of walking away and being a sitting duck

The game is really indirect in it's "no no no you're not ready for this yet." I would suggest that as soon as you can, rather than following the Graces, you go south across a bridge to an area called Weeping Peninsula. Once you clear that out completely you'll be really well equipped to move forward and a lot of people got filtered because they didn't go there (or East to Caelid) and were massively unprepared for the first "real boss."

I was overleveled when I found that boss, killed him in 4 hits. in early game I couldn't get used to the non existent fall damage and I missed a bunch of stuff due to not taking leaps.

It's no different than older souls games, if anything it's easier since if you get stuck you can fuck off elsewhere, level up and come back later stronger. You're just giga shit at adapting.

yes there's input reading (and it's a good thing) on a lot of bosses, but this isn't an instance of that, you can see the boss doing his enraging roar like a whole fucking second before he even presses the estus button, this is a case of the retard not understanding extremely basic and obvious patterns, the boss makes it very understandable that he's going to jump your ass, he stoms the ground, he roars, there's special effects around him and his eyes fucking glow red, do you need an alarm on top or something?
