if its canon its not the wrong choice retard
the devs get to decide what the right choice is

cuck

I came there to get my wife, and I'll get my fucking wife. Why the fuck would you pick Zoe?

Like you would ever romance anyone else.

>dumb useless bitch
vs
>competent character that's helped you along the way and is the only reason you even have the cure

It's not a choice, it's a test or a puzzle. You chose wrong and failed because of it. Go back and try again. Lucky for you, there's no way to get it wrong on the second try unless you are actually stupid.

It was still Mia.

you're a doormat, user

Because Zoe has been sane, helpful and has never tried to kill you.
I figured I'd have to have go with one of them to find the serum to cure the other one and my entire time knowing Mia all she'd done is be secretive, crazy, cut my hand off and constantly tried to kill me. There really should have been a prologue that gave you some reason to care about Mia other than she's your wife that disappeared for three years. She feels like a complete stranger. She could have at least helped you to some degree throughout the game or maybe had a part where she helped you and you bonded. As the player Zoe feels way more familiar.

Still picked Mia.

You went there with the express purpose to save your wife, you idiot. Save your wife.
>but she was mean to me and Zoe wasn't!
Yeah, because she's being controlled by Evaline, you idiot. Save your wife.

Attached: 0 int.png (303x311, 179.41K)

I cant remember who I picked.

Those fucking tanktops every vidya woman wears them

>You went there with the express purpose to save your wife, you idiot. Save your wife.
I'm not a fucking robot, I'll make my mind up based on the situation. I figured I'd have to get another Serum and Mia had done absolutely nothing to make my trust her, think she'd be a valuable companion or even like her. As I said, you should have been given a reason to actually care about her other than the arbitrary idea that you're supposed to. Poor game design.
>Yeah, because she's being controlled by Evaline, you idiot.
Absolutely no way to know that at that point.

The only true choice is the sane tomboy that tried to help you and not the wife who worked in secret for a bio terrorist organization for years to create a dangerous bio organism.

It's a fantastic choice because it filters self-inserters

What do you think the cure is for, idiot?
Did you really think that her psychotic outbursts were unrelated to the horrific situation you found her in?
Do you also play Mario and try not to save the Princess because she's never there to encourage you at the end of a castle?

Yes, god forbid your audience be engrossed and make decisions based on their in-game experience.

It's not a decision though. It's just a fail state. You miss out on content and the story is worse if you "choose" that option. Picking Zoe is just like dying and you have to restart because you failed a gameplay challenge.

If you were engrossed in Ethan's story you'd put yourself in his shoes, which is why the game cleverly punishes you of you go against it

>What do you think the cure is for, idiot?
Cure you.
>Did you really think that her psychotic outbursts were unrelated to the horrific situation you found her in?
Zoe has the same shit in her and hasn't had psychotic episodes or tried to kill me.
>Do you also play Mario and try not to save the Princess because she's never there to encourage you at the end of a castle?
Not a valid comparison.

dont bother, everyone knows this is why mia is the canon option but people just like to be contrarian retards

Anyone who picked Zoe has autism unironically

>You miss out on content
The content is virtually exactly the same except for a worse ending. It's not even compelling enough to go back and replay to do the "right" choice. It's pointless to put it in there. It feels like they had to cut something out. It should be a path A, path B choice that actually gives you something different and ideally a compelling reason to go back and try the other option.

But Mia literally saves you immediately afterwards... even if you abandoned her...

Anyone that picks Mia is just an unthinking retard.

>A guy who went through hell just to save his wife wouldn't choose his wife

Sounds like you're the retard here

>Mia betray you before the game start, living another life, won't even tell you in her last video why you shouldn't come to save your life.

>The beta cuck option is canon(because Japan)

No because to the audience Ethan's story literally starts with her being a stranger. No context of the past or loving relationship is given other than a 1 minute video about her being happy to see you soon followed by a video where she tells you she's been lying to you.
There really should have been some bonding or caring established between the two. Should have had a prologue.
Even when you're united with Mia in the dungeon she never seems remotely relieved to see you. There's no emotional connection though that falls on poor writing.

It's a metaphor for when you get involved in stupid shit for a women and realize midway through the bitch isn't worth it.

Attached: 1649271757886.jpg (634x1057, 181.91K)

Ethan saving Zoe is as stupid as Joel sacrificing Ellie at the end of their game, which is what some people actually believe he should've done.

>Find your wife
>Doesn't react to you being there with any sense of relief or unity
>Withholds information
>Tries to kill you repeatedly
It wouldn't have been remotely surprising to save Mia and then have her betray or double cross you.

>Tries to kill you repeatedly

While under the influence of a demon child bioweapon

Imagine how delusional the developers had to have been to make this a choice. They really thought the audience would resonate with the obligatory waifu character, merely for being the obligatory waifu. Japanese writers are the worst.

Why did she try to kill him? Do you remember? Hmm, something about being under control somehow? Damnit, I just can't remember.

You're retarded. TLOU spends the entire game building up the relationship between Joel and Ellie. So you get to see the bond between them, and understand why Joel did what he did.

RE7 went "dis is ur waifu, lol"

He should have. Humanity dies so a dyke could live. Even Ellie resents him for the decision, since she knows this.

That said, not picking Mia is literal retard shit.

Why was there a choice in the first place? It was completely pointless, Ethan could have used the cure on himself too.

They said that they just put the ´´choice`` because telltale games are popular...remember the game before RE7 was Revelations 2 that got divided in chapters just like Telltale games
Capcom really didnt know what to do with RE before RE7...its no joke that the game saved the franchise.

There's no way to know anything about any control. You just know about an infection that turns people into violent mutants, except for Zoe for some reason. Mia comes off like she's in cahoots with the family whereas Zoe seems like she actually wants to get away.

choices are overrated

the most important thing is that the choice makes you think and consider the options, not the actual consequence

You're an idiot.

The Bakers did not deserve their fate, and Mia was complicit in making it happen by working with bioweapon inventors.
Although she tried warning the Bakers, she subjected all of the previously-normal characters throughout 7 & 8 to death and horrors.
Zoe, but Mia since Zoe just gets saved anyway by her based Uncle Joe in a DLC.

Seriously how brainlet you people can be?You should have killed Jill in RE5 because she attacked you too?the idea of brainwash/possesion is to hard for you people?geez.

RE 7 was great, 8 sounded like it was going to be amazing but the end result wasn't close.

Congrats for utterly missing the point, retard. It's not about YOU, it's about what decision the fucking character will make. Ethan is NOT your self-insert.

Nigga she literally tells that Eveline is crawling in her mind after the first attack...again how stupid can you people be?

>Capcom really didnt know what to do with RE before RE7...its no joke that the game saved the franchise.
It honestly is a really great game. In retrospect this choice is the only thing I don't like about it and knowing that they did this just because something was popular in other games explains a lot and why it feels so tacked on.
They should have at least given some consequence and bearing on the choice though if they were going to put it there. Different final area for either choice would have been great.

You're literally supposed to self-insert as him. That's why his face hasn't been officially shown

So how come Zoe is never possessed in any way? Why doesn't Eveline use her against Ethan?

Cuckold mentality.

The scares and creepyness was awesome. Sounded like you were actually in what you think is an abandoned house in the southern summer. You can almost smell the dank funk of the home and the thick humid air,the cicada's were just the cherry on top.

She also tells you she lied and won't reveal any information to you.

Better question, why the fuck did the devs give you the option to pick Zoe?

Zoe never meet Ethan face to face to be a threat...she was always talking to Ethan via phone.

About The Connections and Eveline, you forgot that?

I'm not a self insert. When you are observing from a 3rd party perspective, then saving Zoe still seems like the correct answer. Because I as a 3rd party respect more of what Zoe has done than what Mia has done.

If Ethan wants to help his wife, fine. But don't put the decision in my fucking hands. It's like asking me to be a judge in a dispute, and then when I make the judgement, I'm arrested for making the wrong decision. Why the fuck did you ask me in the first place, if my choice would fuck me over?

What's stopping her from leading you astray. She keeps her distance from you as a method of preservation but her direction consistently leads you to safety. She doesn't seem nuts like the rest of them or Mia.

if I recall correctly mia acts like a bitch and zoe doesnt, plus zoe literally saved you both expecting nothing in return

I'd go with zoe irl

>b-but muh wife
my wife can go fuck herself if she ever treats me like shit, hope the mold regenerators spitroast her good

She literally didnt remember...the whole point of the Eveline tape in the ship is to made Mia remember.

Seriously i really like to have this discussion because it really made me realize how tight RE7 story is...probably is the plot with less holes since the classic trilogy

>Why the fuck would you pick Zoe?
Because I'm gonna file for divorce and marry Zoe?

It's funny how everyone gives an emotional or intellectual reason for why they chose Zoe yet everyone that chooses Mia says they did because that's what you're supposed to do.

good point

meds now

I have no idea, she was kind of a pointless character. If you think about it, why did her family let her off with not having Eveline's "gift".

Mia wasn't really being a bitch, most of the time she was under control of Eveline.

>why did her family let her off with not having Eveline's "gift".
They talk about her misbehaving quite a bit and they've drawn over her face in the photo in the hallway. It's like she's been disowned for not being one of them.

She keep keeps the distance for the whole family actually...that would explain her resistance to Eveline control?
>her direction consistently leads you to safety.
Heh...actually it lead to a treasure hunt for a cure that in the end didnt work at all
>Use the cure on Jack he still comes back in End of Zoe
>Use the cure on Mia,she got possesed again in the ship to the point she lock herself to not hurt Ethan
>Use the cure on Zoe,lol she get wrecked anyway

Why the fuck would Ethan let his wife die who he has more emotional connection with in favor of some of woman who he just met that night?

You can have those same reasons for Mia too. Inserting as Ethan, that's your fucking wife dude.

>ooga booga she cute
>intellectual reason

Top kek...reminder that in the end Mia helped you more than Zoe and only Brailets dont realize that

I remember, it just didn't seem as like they were forcing her into it like the others. More like "yeah, she sucks for not doing it", and with all the murder and this sadistic and violent side of molded Jack makes you wonder why she was spared and wasn't hacked up,or forced into being molded. So there was a choice there?

re7 was such a solid game
I hope they make another one like it

>This thread again

>Why would anyone choose Zoe?

Many reasons.
- Without her you would not have the cure because you'd be dead
- Without her you would not have the cure because she's the one who literally makes it
- She, unlike your "wife", is 100% blameless for the events and deserves to live the most
- She has been consistently helpful the whole time (while your "wife" has tried to kill you)
- She, unlike your "wife", doesn't cheat on you

Basically, every single logical and ethical argument says you save Zoe because Zoe deserves to live the most. On the other hand, here is the full and complete list of reasons to save your "wife":

- The game tells you she's your "wife" and you're supposed to care for some reason
- You get the bad ending if you don't (for nonsensical and arbitrary reasons)

To think that they toned down the horror in 8 because 7, a horror game, was deemed too scary...

This is why I hate people.
