I play this game every other year and still enjoy it as much as I did when I was 10 years old and it launched
It still feels just as fun, I never even touch the Chao stuff anymore, just play a full run of the story, then maybe mess around in my old 100% finle

One of my most disliked games of all time is Sonic Heroes though
SA2 wasn't perfect but it at least took the stronger design ideas from 1 and built on them. I would have loved to see a further refinement of the good ideas in 2, but we never got that

Everything else is bad

Meteor Herd theme makes up for it. I did my first 10K in high school listening to nothing but SA2 soundtrack the entire time.

The game originally was gonna just be Sonic, Knuckles, and Eggman
All of Eggman's levels are way better than the Tails ones despite them being the same gameplay-wise

OP here. It's a speed stage that is actively trying not to be a speed stage. Not even in a fun way, like Crazy Gadget, where your every move could mean the difference between life or death.

None of them are particularly good.
Some of the speed stages have their moments, but nothing even comes close to the better Adventure 1 Sonic levels. And I don't think that game is great either. The most you can say about either game is that there's nothing out there quite like them, but they were both outdone by 3D platformers before and after them.

Meteor Herd isn't even bad, it's big but there's rockets everywhere to help you get around quickly and the sheer height of the level makes it really memorable, especially when you can just dive all the way down. Mad Space is the only 0/10 level in the game.
