Why would I make a game

Because making a game it's actually more fun than playing them.

watching movies and getting ideas for my game is devving so it's been pretty good thanks for your concern

I don't want to make shallow buggy games or be a manlet thank you

Fine. I'll start.

Shallow buggy games that are fun

How long did this take

Question for people who have experience with 3D modeling characters: if I want to start with a "base" bodytype that can get more muscular later on depending on how the player spends his stat points, do I have to make the topology of the body follow real muscles of the human body so that I can morph the body using shape keys? A lot of the examples of 3D bodies I've seen don't really do that and instead have their own conventions for good topology.

two years so far

The programming took two days, just started learning Unity.

Cant we get together and make a game as a team? Solodeving is extremely hard and pure misery.

Still trying to git gud at 3d modeling, it's the first thing anyone talks about when they play it. I finally made one character model I like but I have no idea how animating works.

What's the gameplay gonna be like?

ehhh one day ill make a game, right now im going through a really tough time, all of my own undoing so i want to make the mc go through simaler shit, i guess as a coping thing.

just the idea that youll fuck shit up, youll go through hell of your own making and youll struggle through that hell till you reach a better place where you can watch the sunset and hopefully not repeat the same mistakes.

if you're looking for a 3d modeller i'm in.

Your game has boob physics, right Yea Forumsros?

Yes and they cannot be disabled.

Of course, along with foreskin physics.

>tugger minigame

>docking minigame

Going great. I just had an AMAZING idea for a hub world. Could imagine 100s of hours of gameplay from it. Going to play it over in my head all day.

Sure, I'll be the idea guy. Who's making the logo?

I'm doing a bit of editing for the VN I'm working on. Don't really have enough content to share for the frequency of these threads, but I do enjoy them.
Now I wanna know. What's the idea?

Welp that's it, I guess there's no excuses for me now

>and they cannot be disabled.
do your game have a huge pair of breast who slaps at regular interval like Newton's pendulum, that's used as a tick to control all other gameplay events ?

Redpill me on godot

Redpill him on Godot. and me too, how good is it for 3D ?

4.0 will fix it.

because you're like 35 and playing video games hasn't been fun to you for years, but it's one of the biggest things you still know, so you try your hand at making some passionate dream game only to give up when you realize just how much work it actually is to make even fairly simple games

>how good is it for 3D ?
hahahahaha

it isn't____________________________________________________________________

Just started going for some cursed shit.
Animation retargeting failed ridiculously.
But already started making my own.

looks like dreams

it's UE5, but barely have any models ready at this point.

I’m an idea guy at the moment I have a lot of ideas for a space exploration game where you build encampments and raid dungeons. It’s supposed to be a sidescrolling shooter and a 3d third person rpg.
I want to include loot elements like Diablo 2 for staves, weapons. I also want to include mechs and mob stealing like Pokémon. Then you could use the stolen Pokémon like slaves and employ them into combat. Like giant enemy crabs

I don't wanna make a game but I just want to make a 3d model viewer/porn thing in Unreal VR.

Easy to miss. Not sure quite what you're looking for though, feedback? All I can say is ideas are cheap, and hard to inspire on their own. Nobody is ever going to be as excited about your idea as you are.
Even if you're a nodev, you should recognize that the concept you outlined is pretty insane scope. Might be fun in the end, but you're looking at years of work to get a foundation going.

Start with the sidescrolling elements and try to make a quality Contra clone. If that's too much, reduce scope.

following a tutorial on how to make car controls and physics for my racing game currently

My sidecrolling shooter is heavily based of a flash game. I’m sure it will be fun. Just probably not as much fun as I had playing it.
I’m going to try develop it on my own unless I can hire help. Then it will be 1-2years with help to develop it.
It will likely be a small rundown game because of scope. I still hope to make it. It might be fun for players who weren’t expecting more from it.

>I’m going to try develop it
Well, I wish you good luck then. Maybe keep in mind what's the core appeal of the game and cut the chaff to save yourself a lot of the headache of development. Stick to it though, and you'll make it eventually.

Thanks I’ll give my best

Hey fuck you.

but user i'm only 33 and i'm actually making amazing progress and will probably have a serious release by this time next year yes life is ever fleeting and ever fragile and therefore we must struggle to achieve our dreams despite the grasping cold fingers of death that pursue us with each moment, each breath, each heartbeat

Is there any engine that doesn't lock shit down after compiling it? I want something moddable to make a sort of interactive char sheet/game map for a tabletop RPG we're playing, so i need something that lets you share pics and whatnot between one another

Any engine that allows the game to read data from external files will allow this, which I'd imagine would be many. I know it's pretty trivial to have UE4 read tab delimited files for example.

>here is your engine, bro...

Too much shit. Keep it simple.

I thought I was keeping it simple. How could I simplify it any further??
