I've owned cats my whole life and some of them (mostly the ones who were strays I rescued) physically hate being inside. I let all of my cats out when they want to, some just hang out in the backyard and others roam the neighboorhood. All of them always come home at night for dinner though.

At the end of the day some cat's love being indoors and others don't. As having owned both; I can honestly say that even though it is more dangerous for them to be outside; outdoor cats genuinely have a higher quality of happiness compared to indoor cats because they get more exercise and get to just be cats . . . chasing birds and climbing things, peeing on stuff and stalking their territory.
