playing by generations? it's alright, there are no good entry games to this series, every other option (by numbers, by release order) is screwy one way or another, you will learn why once you are done completely. Just watch the tldr movies in your hideout.

I noticed something neat about Y7. Only three story bosses have "true" Heat Modes, where once you get them down to a certain amount of HP, they'll have a permanent aura. Those three are Majima, Saejima and Kiryu. No other bosses have true Heat Modes, not even Tendo.

I guess it's meant to show that those four are all in a league of their own. The fact that Tendo lacks a true Heat Mode probably shows that he's nowhere near their league despite his dragon tattoo. However, it also raises a somewhat sad idea: The number of monsters in that category are decreasing. Even in the Omi Alliance, there's basically no one left in the upper echelons who are in that class anymore, excluding Watase.

Imagine if Kiryu had been the main character of Like a Dragon. I wonder how things would have been different. He probably wouldn't sneak around so much. He'd probably just walk right up to enemy territory and walk through while punching everyone's shit in.

Tendo's dragon is just dragonfish. Also Katsuya is alive, Watase should pick him up for 8 if we are getting their boomer club sidestory

No, Tendo's dragon is a full dragon. It's the Qinglong. Sawashiro's is a dragonfish.

All orders have some shit to deal with. 3 as your first Yakuza game doesn't sound bad considering is just your first experience and has a decent recap of 1 and 2. After that, the quality just improves but don't forget to play 0 after 5, then Kiwami 1, then 6 and finally Kiwami 2. Once you're done, you can either play the originals, Like a Dragon or the Judgments in any order you want.

Personally I think it's fine. It lacks a lot of the annoyances of previous games. You don't have to chase anyone, the new minigames aren't half bad compared to some of the shit you had to do in previous games, the hostess minigame here beats the hell out of the shit you had to do in Y3 and Y4 and the combat system's a little more balanced than previous games as well.

user that's a full dragon. The reason it looks so shitty is because it's frankly not meant to be as impressive as Kiryu's or Ryuji's. Kiryu's tattoo is the masterwork of Utabori and Ryuji's tattoo is a multi-generational treasure. Shibusawa's dragon didn't even have an orb at all. It may be half-assed, but that dragon is clearly meant to be Qinglong.

Dragonfish aren't supposed to have arms or claws at all.

Yeah, thanks for posting Shibusawa's as I now see I forgot to mention all the water on Tendo's. I think all that still counts at least as newly born full dragon rather than just some unimpressive dragon.

Nah. It's more of a half-assed dragon. It's a dragon but it didn't complete its metamorphosis. It's reached its peak, but that peak was much lower than that of other dragons. The intent was probably meant to be Qinglong, especially given how much the imagery of the Four Beasts means to the Omi Alliance. But it's just half-assed all around.

It's similar to Shibusawa's Green Dragon. It looks somewhat sickly and lacking in size compared to Kiryu's Ascending Dragon. Every other dragon in Yakuza is ultimately gonna be inferior to Kiryu's Ascending Dragon and Ryuji's Huanglong, and so long as Kiryu lives, there will never be another Dragon that can reach his heights. "There is only room for one Dragon in Japan".
