Except it's easier to powerstance and leap attack than it is to use a shield and do half as much damage in Elden Ring. If using a shield is easy mode than powerstancing is very easy mode.

It's only for a few small weapon you'd never use two handed or alone (like the wakizashi), and the parry frames are tiny compared to the buckler or ANY small/medium shield with the golden or spell parry. Blocking with weapons is a literally pointless action.

I don’t understand why retard video essayists like Joseph Anderson and hbomberguy always talk about shields like they’re somehow a 100% substitute for rolling that can’t coexist. In reality it’s just another layer of defence. You roll and then shield in case your positioning is wrong. Once the enemy attack whiffs you release the shield so that you can regain stamina.

Complaining that Elden Ring is too hard while simultaneously being inflexible with the equipment and strategies you use to approach fights is the most retarded thing ever.

Bruh I smashed my way through the whole game no shield only got shrekt a few times on radchad, flying omnislash cunt and twice on golden gloober until I decided fuck that bitch holy resist and smash. Elden Ring was ez if you've played any of the previous games and know how iframes work. Still was a wonderful playthrough, I genuinely enjoyed searching that game world for over a hundred hours. Now I have vidya depression as nothing else is going to measure up or immerse me that much again for years.

But I don't use a shield. The reason why I stopped using a shield is because It was complete bullshit, and was not clear what can and can't be blocked. Late game shields seems like is easy mode
With rolling, like I said 99% of the attacks can be dodged. The biggest mistake people make with rolling is just reacting too quick. They react to every faint a boss throws. Once you get rid of that instinct everything becomes much easier.
