Started playing the first game and the constant shift in orientation kind of gives me a headache. Is it just as much in the sequel? I know you get alternative “modes” or something so maybe I’ll be able to lean on those more?

You'll get used to it, but you can also definitely lean on Lunar Jumps in 2 if you wanna stay oriented with up up and down down. Fucking around with shifting AND lunar jumps at the same time is top disorienting but also top fun, though.
she's better at using her grav powers in part 2, so things are smoother than 1

The gameplay is objectively fun. You can whine all you want about "hur hurr badly implemented" but you can never get specific because you have no idea what you're talking about and have likely never laid hands on the game.
Walking around upside down on the islands of the game collecting gems is fun
Sliding around is fun
Lunar jumps are fun
Jupiter slam bouncing is fun
Combat is fun unless you're up against the like dragonfly enemy that flits around and you have nothing to turn into ammo to throw at them
