i'm also going through the bugs from saving and loading, its eyeopening how much work goes into mundane things not tied directly to gameplay that are expected to work 100% without fail. i know i'd flip shit if i were to load a save from some game and have things not match, or have the save take longer than a few seconds to load fully.
can't wait to wrap this up and go back to content creation

God, basic AIs are a bitch.
I'm trying to figure out how to separate behaviours for my NPCs, because writing an entire AI in a solid block comes with a lot of flexibility issues.
The way I'm seeing it is a "brain", being fed informations (is enemy close, are allies nearby, ...) and turning behaviours on/off on demand, while the behaviour do their task (follow target, walk from walkpoint to walkpoint, attack, ...)
But I feel like I'm missing something.

The closest game I've seen seems to be My Summer Car but mine would be in a single house with more(?) simulation of the house and leaning more on story and survival than car autism.

I know you're joking (kinda) but my intentions for the game are
"solo mode" similar to bomber man story mode, really simple, only intended for unlocking costume pieces. basic isometric puzzles or something like that - not sure.
"whos the best" main mode where you join a lobby to play mini games. each player has customizable computer head people, and you unlock the body parts via multiplayer and "solo" mode.
also mini games are playable offline w/ AI or with local players

look at finite state machines, then if you think you'll go complex enough to have scaling problems from the FSM, try behavior trees.

Anything that can help me/inspire on making a small open (or semi-open) city ? Or go in this thread I made earlier I'm getting desperate

already in (VN tier choices) but there are only 3 characters with placeholder gimmick stories that I'll change. Even got a coomerbait succubus character you'll be able to summon and dress up with upgrades.

An old demo of mine actually got 2 medium sized streamers to play it years ago but that didn't result in much of a sustained community since I don't have my steam page up or a discord or anything. It's actually approved on steam and ready to go but I fear that by launching the page without a great trailer it'll be a big missed opportunity and right nwo the only stuff I got to show is TECHNOLOGY webms.

thank god writing loading and saving code is super easy. Especially if you use JSON with Unity and you can serialise Unity's built-in types (vector3, etc.).

thought about it and even tried importing some animations in there but i think given the already very crude nature of the game and how streamer-baity it is I'm probably better off not having actual sex scenes.

Personally I wouldn't mind making a few monster girl island tier scenes but it sounds like a bad move. I could make a "hot coffee" tier mod that you can download and slap easily to enable sex scenes I guess.

Honestly blueprints are fun to work with. I don't get what the complaints are about aside from optimization issues

It's pretty fun to optimize code for a system where removing a loop that cleans 128 bytes give you a 5-10% performance gain.
