I beat it with no problems. I do not understand the issues. The only negative was the open world meme that will prevent me from playing it again.

>I beat it with no problems
>do you really think people would just go on the internet and lie like that
Miyazaki has no fucking clue what he is doing besides picking out cool art for his unoptimized gaymes

>shitterzaki can't finish his own games
Filtered?

when even the greatest gamer of all time says your game is too hard it might be time to add that easy mode

FROMSOFT GAMES WERE NEVER HARD. I don't understand why this place has to pretend they're some kind of elite gaymer corp just because they can beat these games. A fuckton of zoomer youtubers and streamers, a lot of them being casuals, have beaten Fromsoft games including elden ring. Women too. Fucking females can beat Fromsoft games. Just enjoy them for what they're actually great at instead of exaggerating their difficulty so you can brag about games even women can beat.

>"FROMSOFT GAMES WERE NEVER HARD."
>"YOU DIDN'T LIKE IT? FILTERED!"

The only areas that had a huge difficulty spike are Mohgwns Palace and the Haligtree, both optional and end game

Mohgwyn is not hard.
Haligtree is not hard besides Melenia and that random fight on the bridge with the archers, the cannons, the knights and the fucking erdtree avatar randomly.

>flaws and rough edges are actually a good thing because they make games more memorable and strengthen communities
Summarized the article for you

Is he saying that the game is too hard or too easy?

He's saying that the difficulty has wild spikes and dips and varies wildly based on the kind of build you use and that this is a positive because overly balanced and polished games are boring and unmemorable, citing examples such as fighting games with dominant top tiers that ended up developing a strong community culture.

The fact that a lot of normalfags can play and beat Elden Ring means it's not too hard. It's literally plebbit's favorite game and you guys think it's hard. You're admitting to being less skilled than fucking plebbitors.

my biggest issues with the game tend to be how often i run into fucking ulcerated tree spirits, they gotta stop reusing them same exact bosses to pad things out
not a fan of Elden beast chase orb, snake shockwave from rykard or marika ground pound
The waterfowl dance was kinda ok but i don't like bosses reading inputs unless i can trun that too around on em

>game journalists are dumb why do people even read their shit
>OMG journalists said stupid shit I can use to shitpost about "game" were did "x" go wrong bros!?

I suck at most games and I got through er without much problem. This difficulty shit is just a meme.

ER can be trivialized by using a OP build and skipping side content

Name one overly balanced game

Pong

>that random fight on the bridge with the archers, the cannons, the knights and the fucking erdtree avatar randomly.
I skipped that entire group without even realizing it and then just pulled the avatar from behind without any of the other shit

Are Haligtree and Mogwyn Palace supposed to be postgame? Going through them made me massively overpowered for Farum Azula and Ashen capital.

i think you're meant to do farum first

seems like it. had the same experience going through Azula and the capital.

elden ring really wasn't that hard, you fags are just exaggerating

Played through with three builds: Str/Faith, Dex/Arcane and Int. Easily the easies Souls game besides maybe Demon's Souls and Dark Souls II.

I unironically agree. I'm sick of fucking every AAA game having level scaling and randomised equipment that basically keep you and your enemies at the same power from beginning to end so you never feel like your character grows or the enemies get any tougher. Sometimes elden ring is a faceroll, sometimes I'm getting rolled but at least I'm not fucking bored out of my mind.

Certainly feels like it, I got to moghwyn and suddenly my blasphemous blade +9 was useless. Not sure if the enemies there had faith resistance or not but it’s and haligtree are the two toughest areas in terms of enemy damage/health. Farum isn’t far off, but I kill enemies in 2-3 hits there compared to 5-6 at Moghwyn

ty user
not even a bad point desu, ill take a poorly optimized title with pride and ambition in the making over a well oiled soulless corporate product. it's why i still have such fond memories for games like kingmaker and da:o but barely remember so many others

>mohg gives 420k runes, blaze it
>malenia give 480k
>elden beast gives 500k
im pretty sure they are meant to be the last things you do before finishing up the game

>you can walk on lava but you can't swim
what the fuck

>is that such a problem?
12 million sales say no. Even if the game bombed, devs should be free to create whatever they want.

Being the shiteaters that they are, I'm sure Eurogamer would be singing a different tune had the game sold poorly, though.

Critics are only writing about it because their games are popular. They don't care about vidya

I think they're meant to be done after Godfrey if we go by the amount of runes Mogger and Malenia give. They're definitely post-game and Malenia is essentially the game's superboss.

>it doesn't have to be balanced

ye
shits open world and not linear.
fuckers surely went right to caelid and shit their pants, followed by writing this article

The difficulty curve between areas isn't steep, it's just that the ideal route to progress through them is completely nonsensical
>complete the first two adjoined areas in any order
>then go a little north
>then all the way back south
>then go back further north
>go through the huge northern area
>then go underground
>then go back to the area directly east of the starting area
>but don't go to the northern part of it, you go back there three areas later
>then go back underground again

If you stumble across any of these areas in the wrong order, you run the risk of being massively over or under leveled for any of them.

The fun thing is that even being underleveled you can still complete stuff. I killed the misbegotten and crucible knight at lvl 30 by banging my head against the wall for 5 hours and learning to avoid everything they had without making a single mistake.

I could've just gone to explore other parts of the map, but being able to just say fuck it and try is really nice.

You wasted 5 hours of your life

Honestly, i can't see myself replaying Elden Ring in foreseeable future.
It was cool blind adventure, but i had no joy in combat.
For me first playthrough is for exploration, second and later is for gameplay. Which is why i replay ton times Sekiro, and played only 2 times already too fast for Souls combat DS3.
I didn't bothered replaying DS2 because of clunkiness, played DS1 though a lot too.

Elden Ring is only difficult if you try to fight every boss offensively. With the ramped up input reading, you are force to bait and then counter attack. It is basically like Sekiro, but without the fun.

This basically, complete balancing is overrated, not even memeing. This is why FFT is still to this day one of the best games ever. Being able to customize your character and make it as strong as your creativity lets you is just plain fun.

And a non-brain dead person would just think "Ok, I need to go somewhere else". It's only a problem for people used to super linear games.

Maybe this is why FFXIV is so boring to me, it`s a completely balanced game and has always been, but there`s zero character customization, your creativity matters for shit in that game and you`re just going through the motions that the devs planned for you.

I realize it`s a MMO, but still, I can`t even call it a RPG because of how soulless it is, no customization at all for the sake of balancing.

I had fun.

AND THAT'S A GOOD THING!

the problem isn't that it's too hard, but that it's very unbalanced
otherwise you wouldn't need to come up with weird house rules to keep the game challenging

I understand if I feel overleveled if I farm, but why was I overleveled just for exploring the world.

he didn't beat the game

Because it's designed to let you be an appropriate level without doing all the optional content. That way you can skip the things you don't like or are giving you trouble and still progress.

As someone who does pretty much every shred of optional content, I finished a playthrough at level 156 without grinding, using consumable runes, or cracking a rememberance for runes.

the only thing that maybe fromsoftware could be better at conveying is how important it is to find the mines in this game.

90% of your damage comes from weapon upgrades, so if you go to an area and don`t find the mines to get the smithing stones, you`re like waaaaaaaaaay weaker than you could be if you found it and upgraded your weapon.

Yea Forums has been less skilled than redditors for 5-10 years now. It was all downhill after that tribes match.

If you're playing games no woman has ever beat I have bad news for you lmao

The mines are clearly marked on the map, how much easier do you want it to be?

are they? I finished the game with 130 hours and didn`t notice it lol. what`s the mark?

>I drove over a pothole in the road with no problems
>therefore the pothole isn't an issue doesn't need to be fixed

What is it about Fromsoft titles specifically that attract the most bottom of the barrel, dumb as dogshit retards? I can't think of any other series that has people react like this.

>it's designed to let you be an appropriate level without doing all the optional content.
I was in the 70's in farum azula, doing mandatory and a good bit of optional content. I ended up farming to get a better level comfortably.

Not 100% of them, but like 90% of them can be found where you see this mark on the map.

You have no indication that bell bearings are found in mines until you happen to find one in a mine. You also don't know they're ONLY in mines aside from the last one, and not every mine has a bell berring. I don't think anybody even tells you wtf a bell berring is or for in the first place, your only indication that they're something of possible value is when you talk to the shop crones at the roundtable.

Sounds like you should go back to whatever MMO or Call of Duty you usually play.

How could someone say such things about Punchout for Incels 6?

Attached: DA5178DE-FC7D-4C8B-B408-72C518BE9EC6.jpg (640x640, 90.66K)

oh shit, thanks, didn`t know that lmao, this will help when I do a new run after the dlcs have launched.

None of what I said is wrong so thank you for telling me I won this argument in the only way you know how. You probably think I'm asking for a giant blinking yellow arrow pointing at a mine, because you're a fucking moron.

Don't expect fairness in a FROMSOFT game.

Shut the fuck up retard. God.
>maybe some of the most important items in the game that finally open up some build variety for the player shouldn't be obscured
>NOOOOOOO CAWADOOTYYY
Fucking retard, kys

We're not taking about smash

>it's okay when Miyazaki does it
