You can pick the next historical total war, do you choose:
>medieval 3
>renaissance
>empire 2
>victorian
?
You can pick the next historical total war, do you choose:
Rome again
empire but made by a different studio
Late Bronze Age would be fucking kino
think, it’s like Rome barbarian invasion but the hoard faction in this one would be the sea peoples
that or one set right before the fall of Constantinople and ends with the napolionic wars
Thirty Years War
why not just combine the two hypothetical games into one that just spans from 1450-1750
Sci-fi spin off.
40k spin-off?
Stone Age.
Probably Empire 2
Empire 2 would be kino for sp and mp
would actually be kinda cool
>can recreate hyperborea
>can leap as sumerians
Marvel cinematic universe
1212 ad, the Attila mod, is literally medieval 3 done better than CA could ever hope.
Total War: World War
steel division is already that
is it really that good? do the cities look more medieval?
476-1066 AD
Medieval 3
isn't that attila?
>renaissance
>empire 2
explain the difference
Attila 2
/thread
total war elder scrolls
>renaissance
that'd be in the pike and shot era between the end of medieval 2 and empire
Total War: War on Middle Earth
alright hear me out
it’s your typical total war game but…
it’s set in fire emblem…
WW1 fuck off with your flavors of spears and swords already
Attila is a century or two at most I think, and then there's a similar Charlemagne DLC that's like a separate game.
I want the whole deal, without the campaign focusing on one character.
>just sit in a trench all day xd
still beats CA just reusing the old engine and mechanics once again with some funky shit sprinkled on top and calling it a day
going to other forms of warfare is the only way it will be possible to make them innovate
WW1 WW2 WW3 40K is how it should go with each installment building on previous one
Empire 2 with the Three Kingdoms Engine
Except the shit they do simply doesn't work in that setting. They would have to make games like company of heroes or dawn of war.
no, they would have to make a proper high budget big scale casual-friendly wargame, not an rts. but that won't fit in with their current marketing strategy of just rehashing their bs that's older than most of this board by now every couple years and banking in on the hype.
Renaissance
Bronze Age
Scramble For Africa
WORLD
WAR
ONE
it isn't going to work sorry.
They already hate melee enough that an all-ranged TW could happen.
Biblical Total War.
It can even have fantasy elements.
emu war
Renaissance.
>Italian Wars through to 30 years war to English civil war
>pike and shot
>glorious enlightenment
>playing as Cesare Borgia and going full machiavellian
K I N O
Victoria, and I give the IP to another dev.
sure it won't, it's CA we are talking about here, they've been breaking more and more stuff with each installment of wh, units don't even engage each other properly anymore, just boot up shogun 2 and compare how they fight and move there with wh2 (let alone 3), it's night and day. luckily wargames are getting bigger every year and wh2 is basically a simplified wargame already, new guy booting it up with all dlcs enabled will be just as overwhelmed with all the unit types and interactions and counters and it will take a good hundred hours to discover that they're hacks and you only need a few units in each faction to completely dominate everything. they're deep into nepotism and just general incompetence, with the way thing are going in the genre though they'll be forced to innovate or perish. good times.
If its stell spread sheet combat, I dont care. Its gonna be shit.
Last good TW was Shogun 2.
>shitgone 2 good
back to /vrpg/ for you FE faggots
CA is good though.
Total War is all about formation fighting. Can't see how they could pull it off with modern military.
They need to figure out how to form mixed and split formations first, to form tercio units, if they want to make any pike and shot era game
Also an improved cantabrian circle command that lets them do caracole
and fix the blob AI that goes full retard and disrupts commands the moment a singular soldier from one unit goes in contact with a singular soldier from an enemy unit
>They need to figure out how to form mixed and split formations first, to form tercio units
They did it in 3K
there's a bronze age one, troy!
weapon systems change too much, I dont think they can manage both of it
Any previous total war on console.
Fucking kill yourself.
They literally destory a billion dollar franchise.
they make good games, cope.
I used to have a list of historical and fantasy settings I'd like to see them do, but they haven't even made a good game in like 10 years so I've given up hope.
>historical
Cancel it and instead do Total Warhammer 40k.
>all about formations
>nothing sticks into any sort of formation and just blobs up
It never mattered.
How about the great war?
Empire 2 would b kino as fuck if done right
I got so many hours on the first one, even being a broken shitty mess, then I found a huge mod made by a spanish forum who fixed almost every problem that wasnt due poor design (like cities and other stupid shit) and boy I had a blast
I think it could be done 1450s to 1550s pretty much just saw a weird mix of early guns but still me devils style warfare
1600-1700 was just one third pikes one third match lock and last third was cav
So far all these units are in vanilla med 2
Then 1700s to pre napoopan was just poke and shot style warfare minus the pik s and a lot more arty
making pike and shot work, and also making volley fire drills work. Empire had it but it was very tricky to set up. Since you somehow needed your guys to line up, have a target that was lined up, have all of them not fire until you give the other, and have them go.Pike and shot also doesnt really work in TW since the game doesnt really allow you to run units into other units to cover them.
After empire they stopped bothering with rifle fire. All you need now is a clear line of fire and they can go.And if you want to stop cav charges you can just keep blocks of infantry on the side, since cav needs to stay in a formation so they cannot slip inbetween
