Unironcally the remaster models look better. There are some things about the remastered mode I wish I could switch back to Classic. Namely the character portraits when they talk.

By far the worst thing about CC is that the plot and dungeons are 90% filler. Could have easily fit everything that mattered into a game half as long and had something short and sweet like Chrono Trigger is.

Surprisingly I don't hate it. Most of the time remaster models look terrible

No, they did not. There's one area that's made to look specifically like that, and even that is ruined by the AI algorithm they used.

Literally every background in this game is meant to look like a painting and it only looks 'shittier' because they were never meant to be this high resolution.

They weren't meant to be realistic, but they were not meant to be oil paintings. The AI misinterprets the pixel information everywhere and makes everything look wavy and distorted. Fans have achieved better results because they've put the effort into training the AI how to interpret the pictures for optimal upscaling

If you beat both Radical Dreamers and Chrono Cross and sit through the credits there is an added post credits scene with Guile and yes he's Magus
