It aged perfectly fine for a game during the time it was released. Fallout 3 aged a lot better than Oblivion though.
Fallout 3 was never good zoom zoom.
fresh out the imperial sewer lookin ass
It had soul, it had actual music and atmosphere. shit combat and shit loading times, but soul is more important.
I don't enjoy running around bland gray and brown environments listening to the same 3 violin chords over and over, like in modern open world "masterpieces"
No it didn't retard. It was never good.
Elderfags will never stop seething over Witcher 3 will you?
just like public smart phone users
It was shit
niggers
Sir
the cut/paste is more obvious
music is still top tier soul though
It actually looks more modern if you turn the HDR bloom shit off.
Modded Morrowind looks better than Vanilla Oblivion.
But user, they're both shit.
Why did Skyrim fail to capture the NPC schedules of Oblivion
first post needful post
Modded Oblivion looks better than modded Morrowind
Post proof
it was never good
Did you forget when it was released?
it sneeded like chuck
kys zoomzooms, shouldn't you be watching elden ring on twitch?
Why are people on Yea Forums so incredibly insecure that they don't dare to like games because some fat fucks on a chinese forum might not like them for it?
guys
I HATE ALL VIDEO GAMES
disagree, the stink of shit is still as fresh as on the first day.
>install it recently
>can only play for like 20 minutes before getting bored
>haven't touch it for 3 days.
It's not as fun as I remember, in fact it's not fun at all.
youtube.com
remember this?
Just because you're a pussy who tailors their taste to please others doesn't mean everyone else does it. Maybe you should stop projecting so much.
>oblivion zoomers think they're not zoomers
o am i laffin
>It aged perfectly fine for a game during the time it was released.
which is a scalding remark considering that most games from that period have aged terribly.
bethesda was always defined by incompetence and the blindness of people defending them.
it aged like based
>I don't enjoy running around bland gray and brown environments listening to the same 3 violin chords over and over, like in modern open world "masterpieces"
God I fucking hate most open world music. I have no idea how it caught on that open world music has to be as ambient, unnoticable and boring as possible. It ironically takes me out of the game more, just due to how dull it is, like that one part in the Elden Ring OST that's literally just a single sustained string note that lasts for 30 seconds.
>game from the era of brown in brown tedium
>menu is literally brown in brown
Part of it likely stems from the fact that it's almost impossible to have a good discussion around any given game on Yea Forums. Let's say you like Halo Infinite, you make one post about it. You will summon /pol/ and their schizo shitstorm about the new show and/or 40 year old autists talking about how the series is doomed and that no good FPS has been created since Wolfenstein 3D - which will in turn summon /pol/ about the new games. Yea Forums does not actively encourage any form of intelligent conversation. You can't like anything because you'll get 300 responses just calling you a nigger faggot, and if you do like something, you're a shill. That's why those rare comfy threads that somehow avoid /pol/ and seething manchildren are so appealing when you find one. Sometimes its nice to be able to have a functional conversation without 90% of the thread being about jews, trannies, fags, etc. Sure you can try to talk in those threads, but there will always be at least that one user who desperately tries to make the thread about CP or 'Globohomo' and it's honestly just not worth the discussion most of the time.
>filtered by ambient music
lol
>doesn't even reflect the trees on the water
Oh no no no no
Nope, I’m really enjoying Shivering isles, the sky and landscape looks great
you played like 40 minutes faggot, kys
Bloom was the main annoying graphical gimmick around 2006-2012, and Oblivion was one of the worst offenders.
Oblivion was also very colorful with all its near fluorescent greenery and oversaturated UI. It was clown vomit compared to what would become the standard palette of the late 00s.
retard
>shit combat
kys
Come on bro, you're never going to win this
alright then how is the combat shit?
I just dislike shit music that does nothing to create or enhance any kind of memorable atmosphere. Ambient music doesn't have to mean 'does nothing'.
It consists of nothing but melee swings, a power attack and magic, not even going into how bloated the enemy health becomes at later levels, Oblivion is my favourite Elder Scrolls game but it sure isn't because of the combat
I love the look of games around this time, except for the bloom abuse
Good saturation, textures and models are in the sweet spot where everything is legible but not filled with useless detail yet
All new games have excessively harsh lighting and dull palettes for some godforsaken reason
Playing any game with modded graphics is onions incarnate.
I played this game in 2007 or 2008 and even then it already felt clunky, outdated and soulless.
Fallout was never good zoom zoom.
ftfy
oblivion's soul still lives on and it's a quirky game
similarly with morrowind. Though Morrowind's static NPCs and towns do bother me a bit on later playthroughs
skyrim just looks dated
Playing video games is already soi so you may as well embrace it
again you haven't explained how the combat is shit? you build your character around stats, having more fatigue so you focus more on fast attacks with daggers, blades etc
You can focus more on having more mp and using more powerful spells, you can unlock parries new attacks if you use a certain stat more
Please explain to me how the combat is bad from a rpg perspective, unless you think every game needs to have dmc or bam ham combat
Oh and sneak attacks and archery as well, the main problem is the enemy health very quickly outscales your damage output no matter if you have 100 strength and 100 weapon skill so it just ends up you whacking an enemy for 5 minutes, getting a sneak attack in and whacking them or relying on Weakness to Magic to get any serious magic damage out
Shut up OP, it aged just like Morrowind
>not even going into how bloated the enemy health becomes at later levels
faggot still can't grasp leveling up the skills and how the level up, scaling system works in oblivion, thanks for exposing yourself i guess
Buddy I've played the game, I know how the stats work, there just comes a point where your damage plateuas while the enemy health is still based off of a mutliplication of your level which keeps on increasing
>Oblivion was also very colorful with all its near fluorescent greenery
You and I remember the caves'n'ruins very differently.
>we still havent gotten another epic high fantasy open world adventure with Forest kino as good as this
Damnit. I thought Elden Ring might do it but the forests just aren't as dense or mighty as Oblivion. Nothing seems to have matched it.
user that's the only good part and it's not even the base game. get real.
Oblivion is just Skyrim with the fun parts still intact. Fuck Bethesda and the casual cucks who doomed the series.
