Sonic is a kid in the first two films with a design to reflect that in the games from 1 up to 3. In Adventure he was a teenager. Is Sonic going to get aged up in the time gap to reflect that, with green eyes and all? Maybe because of exposure to the emeralds?

Age doesn't exist in any meaningful way for any of the characters in Sonic or similar franchises, none of them have parents and Amy and Tails for example explicitly live alone. It's easier to just ignore age entirely.
