I like both games, but anyone that favors Rise is a brainlet. It plays and feels like MonHun Handheld Edition. World does almost everything better, and Rise is not challenging at all. Even the super mega "secret" last boss that you have to grind just to be able to fight is going to go down on the first shot for most players that aren't utter shit. I dumped ~250 hours into World before Iceborne even came out. I've played about 70 of Rise, and I've done everything there is to do. Just waiting for Sunbreak. It's a fair comparison, and there's no competition.

I started playing these on PS2 back in the day and played every single one. And when playing 4U, as I was fighting the same monster I've been fighting in every game, I just realised how stupid I was buying the same thing over and over again, despite not being as good as FU.

World gave me a reason to come back as it actually tried something drastically new. Especially with the visuals.

Depends on why you liked it. If you liked the combat and got really deep into it, yeah you more than likely will. But if you really liked the sense of scale and wonder, the social aspects, the progress of seeing new monsters appear...more than likely not.

I have an RTX 3070 and I spent most of last year playing FFXIV. Good graphics are a bonus, not a dealbreaker. Personally, I'd rather have high framerates with stable frame times over prettier graphics.

If it is anything like going from base version to ultimate version in the past games, it should add plenty of content.
