XIV's multiplayer aspect is bad because it's nearly non-existent, the content that already exists has no incentives for people to play it, and because the devs try to do everything in their power to make the entire game single-player.

wait till tuesday, u can solo all content before the mog fight. try a few solo dungeons until u feel comfortable, and then jump back into the mog fight.

ARR dungeon bosses and I think some HW ones can be slowed. It doesn't work on trial or raid bosses except maybe Chimera and Hydra, I don't remember.
