I always support the Empire in my playthroughs, but I also always assassinate the Emperor through the Dark Brotherhood first and LARP that I have become the new Emperor by right of my status as Dragonborn and the legitimate successor to Tiber Septim. Skyrim is re-absorbed into an Empire ruled by me, with Talos worship reinstated and all Thalmor agents killed on sight. And if they want to go to war again, let's see how they fare against Odahviing and Durnehviir swooping down on their armies and smiting them to Oblivion.
