always nice to see someone incorporated un-locked backstepping into their combat, it's always addicting to get those off in the heat of the moment
kinda but not quite. basically in das1 blocking was determined by the direction you were facing during an attack. if an opponent was blocking and you faced towards their shield, your attack would be blocked. dead angling is when you purposefully look the other way with a long weapon so that the hitbox still reaches the opponent, but because you are facing away from the shield it counts as a full hit.
it also had the advantage of being night-unparriable, but i feel that is more a secondary definition

There is a single parry in that clip, other dude tries to go for one but gets knocked out of it since med shields have a super slow wind up for active parry frames by themselves. Which is why there's no reason not to always use carian or golden parry on them.
