There's so many restrictions on how to truly 'beat' the game, if it was really difficult shouldn't it be that way even without very specific self-imposed challenges? Also if it's really as hard as this board says, how come so many people can beat it? Miyazaki's games are literally lddit's favorite and those casuals are able to beat these games.
Is Elden Ring REALLY difficult?
Simply a game of trial and error
No need to go for any bullshit challenge some faggot on Yea Forums told you
The games are always hard as hell your first play through or your initial 20-40 hours. After that mastery really kicks in and you will be a lot better. Restart the game and see how pathetic the start is after spending a good amount of time playing it. I think i parried every single enemy i came across cause it was so fucking easy. I didn’t even fight, i would stand still and wait for the first attack rinse and repeat but they generally die to the first critical. That’s one of the best aspects about this game. You can see and you remember how much you struggled at first only to become a fucking elden lord
>initial 20-40 hours
*minutes
I dunno, everyone here seems to be a god gamer but I couldn't beat the game and I beat DS1-3 and Sekiro. I used summons, I played an int build and I tried to outlevel areas and I still got filtered. I rage deleted my save 95 hours into the game and I'm fine with it. I will never beat this game and I don't care. It is by far the most difficult game Fromsoft has ever made and it fucking sucks because of that. Difficulty is not a virtue by itself. I don't want an almost insurmountable challenge when playing a game, I don't feel good or accomplished when beating a boss after 50 tries. I just feel angry and empty inside.
The last regions are especially annoying with swarms of bloated hp trash mobs, and hyper aggressive bosses. I was enjoying it so much until Farum. Shit sucks.
Elden Ring has been beaten by women, trannies, zoomers, normalfags.
It's not difficult.
You hit the nail on the head, you have to add a million restrictions, because they aren't hard games at all.
Go try to play some of those 00s action games, like DMC or even Bayonetta, they will kick your ass much, much more than any of these and you can't ask niggerman for help there.
This is because they expected your character to be extremely broken at this point of the game. They expect your combo chains to deal at least 1200 damage in two hit sequences. If it feels like everything is a sponge it’s because your dealing nowhere near enough damage. Bleed is notorious for being the baby mode in this game but that’s because of what’s been happening in pvp. Generally everyones out look on status effects was always positive until they saw what was going on in pvp. Once they reduce the build up on iframes of any status effect people will be clamoring to get good again
Ok
that just means that your build is bad
it's ok, try a good build
>Is Elden Ring REALLY difficult?
No, it's very middle of the road in difficulty, just like all of the souls games, bloodborne, and sekirto.
Isn't Bayonetta relatively new? I don't remember those being in the 00s
struggling to beat a normalfag game that redditors can beat doesn't make you a "god gamer"
depends on how you play the game. without using ash summons the game is incredibly difficult because bosses are spastics that fly at you like helicopters delaying their swings into 10 hit combo strings. if you use an ash summon the game is braindead easy because boss AI is still too shit to handle more than one target so you breeze through the game.
This piece of shit deserves to be cheesed.
Playing the game 'properly' reduces it to sheer memorization because the game's fundamentals and boss behavior isn't consistent enough to succeed otherwise unless you are running cheese build and even then you will regularly die to 'gotcha' moments designed to punish normal reactions that would usually work
>int
Int in my experience is harder than dex and str builds because you have to invest a lot of levels in int and mind, but the game gets really easy (and boring) when you get Rock Sling and Moonveil (even without using the special move). Rock sling does physical damage, has a lot of range and tracking, and stagger bosses in 4-5 hits.
It is, unless you abuse spirits
Souls bosses have always been about memorizing mechanic patterns. Elden Ring bosses just have more complex patterns, with more obscure telegraphs. There's nothing inconsistent about them, they're just more confusing for stupid people.

>abuse

its the easiest soulsborne game out of them all but its still fun as hell. Sucks they re used so many assets and dungeons are all the same maybe the world should have been smaller but had more content
For me, souls game are too difficult in the sense that it takes me 10-30 tries to kill bosses and hours of farming levels, when I would rather killed bosses in 1-3 tries and did a small bit of farming here and there.
I did a vast majority of the game as a slow STR build that wasn't even power stancing until very late game. Solo as well besides using mimic on Niall to see how good it was and on Duo first time because didn't want to be others. Did Malenia Mohg2 Malekith etc all alone with a slow build. Supposedly this is harder then most builds? The thing is besides a small handful of bosses the game itself isn't very hard. You might get road blocked for a moment on some of the hardest fights. But unless you're doing a challenge run they aren't that hard. Levels in ER suffer from the same exact issues they did in BB/DaS3 it is so fucking easy to just run past and skip everything even on your first run. So basically ER is a easy game with some moments here and there. The levels don't challenge the player. Exploring the open world rarely challenges the player because torrent lets you opt out of virtually everything scary. Its just a few bosses early game and a few bosses late game.
The same can be said of whatever game Yea Forums calls difficult.
Trannies can beat ninja gaiden black, DMC on DMD, and every single souls game has speedrun trannies playing it.
Trannies are just better at games than Yea Forums.
How the heck did you end up getting filtered by Fallingstar Beast of all things?
so basically you are saying you are playing the wrong games and should fuck off
>10-30 tries
that was the fun thing about souls games, but elden rings bosses are very easy and you can beath them in 5 tries or so
Name 1 game that hasn't been beaten by a tranny.
Hot take:
Kingdom hearts 3 on the hardest difficulty is harder than elden ring
>Died like 150-200 times to mostly stuff like Malenia/Mohg2/a few harder bosses. Nothing really to levels or normal enemies for the most part.
>See woman who beat Malenia with around 350 deaths total for the entire game.
>DSP still has almost died 600 times.
What is his fucking problem?
Not him but besides Malenia/Mohg and maybe a short 30-40 minutes on Malekith id say FGFSB was my biggest hurdle. That was until i decided to just get on my horse and win. You see... i spent the entire game thinking that the horse could only be healed by the raisins so id get on and off of it trying to not let it die thinking it had one charge between fights. Then i realized estus healed the horse too and one shot every boss i could get on the horse for. I will say i think dragonic is much more fun on foot same with the tree sentinel. Horse combat is janky and unsatisfying. But this thing just felt terrible as slow melee on foot and in its phase 2 it feels hard as fuck to avoid the AOEs on foot where as on horse its not even a skill check.
There is no boss without gimping yourself that takes more then 1-2 tries in DaS1. DaS2 some optional ones maybe but those are mostly bullshit like ancient dragon. DLC bosses are still not more then a few tries. DaS3/BBs harder bosses aren't as hard as Malenia or top 3 ER bosses. Did you use the mimic or summons?
if you play the game like a souls game (sword n shield or 2h, no magic, no summons) some bosses like fallingstar beast are just downright impossible. godskin apostle, the fat one, is another impossible bullshit fight if you're trying to do a "regular" dark souls playthrough. he's a joke if you summon or use moonveil or blast him from range or whatever, but all of that is the same as setting the difficulty from insanity to story mode.
i also hate elden ring because you can't play it like dark souls and unlike what says you can't actually master it, the game is a gigantic pile of bullshit thrown at you non-stop. you can probably get better at certain fights and learn moveset spacing and stuff, but it doesn't matter because the bosses are going to input read you and infinite stamina combo burst you to death while ignoring staggers sometimes, whenever they feel like it. the combo extension moves are a joke, they invalidate everything about the game's core design principles and the insane hp/dmg scaling post leyndell feels like a horrific bug. it's a terrible game i don't blame this dude for trying to play it like dark souls, i'm sure he cheesed some of the unwinnable fights just like i did since thats what the game wants you to do.
I found it the easiest game From has produced in years, and I didn't even use any summons or ashes. Only at the very end with three bosses did it actually challenge me, but it was for all the wrong reasons, not because of trial and error. It's bizarre how people are saying their first playthroughs span 80-120 hours and yet I beat it and all bonus content in about 35, even with me having zero sense of direction. I think people just spend too much time idling around or farming items.
This was honestly the only boss in the game that reasonably challenged me and I thought was fair.
>Clear tells for what he's about to do next
>Able to punish many of his attacks when dealt with correctly rather than him immediately starting another combo or evading 50 ft away
>Not a single million hit combo that never ends
>Any of his massive hit abilities take time to charge up, providing ample time to recognize and avoid it
>Not a 9999999 HP sponge that takes no damage
Difficult enough for me to not murder it first try, but not so difficult that I'm banging my head against a wall 20+ times before having to completely change my build for it.
they hated him because he spoke the truth
>I found it the easiest game From has produced in years
It's the hardest game From has ever produced, but that's not a high bar, considering how middle of the road all From games are in terms of difficulty.
Name 1 game that hasn't been completed by a tranny.
I used slow STR and the only difference between my slow STR at the start and end was power stancing. I didn't have to change my build to beat anything. Also the game is the hardest from a STR perspective From has ever made but might not be the hardest dex wise? Its hard to tell. The hardest 3-4 bosses are harder then anything else in their library but they aren't some pinnacle not even Malenia of filters. Variable wise though they are harder then anything else in the series. People say difficulty is subjective but this is a bullshit cope out for people not to make an argument. Variables the player much manage make the game difficult or not and ER has more solo wise then any other From game. Not always for the best of reasons though.
Level design wise though its up there with non DLC DaS3 and BB. Where its just too easy to run past everything even without knowing where to go you will come to a grace.
A glitchless run of the game of life.
they speedrun that all the time tho
Yeah, I knew you wouldn't be able to engage with what I asked. Really sad.
It's my first time fighting this cunt and I ain't having a good time. It's either the gravity aoe bullshit gets me or somehow my character gets stuck on the terrain and he rapes me with his horns. And it doesn't help that Briar kicked my ass prior to finding this guy.
It's artificially difficult.
Maybe you should look at posts by ID and then you'll see that me the person who responded to you wasn't the person you were responding to in the first place? This place keeps getting stupider and stupider.
It's hard because bosses are doing combos like Sekiro bosses did while you are stuck with fighting them with Dark souls combat mechanics.
>Maybe you should look at posts by ID
Yea Forums doesn't have IDs. You're retarded, aren't you?
>It's hard because bosses are doing combos like Sekiro bosses did while you are stuck with fighting them with Dark souls combat mechanics.
I love how retards are already plagiarizing shitty e-celeb arguments verbatim.
Forza horizon 5
I've been fighting so many tree spirits that I basically know what these writhing lumps are going to do before they start their wind-ups.
>Hardest game
No way, that'd be the Kings Field games.
In all seriousness, I spent way more time trying to beat any of the previous games and bosses like Ludwig, Orphan, and Isshin, while I'm competent with now, took me forever my first try. Game journalists and the lowest scum are able to beat Elden Ring while they failed and whined about previous entries, especially Sekiro since it was single player.
I had a STR build and used the Halberd before switching to DEX and using the swordspear. Faster, but still a "slow" weapon. Used it for the entire game until I got to the bonus bosses where things just get too retarded. I guess those specific bosses are objectively more difficult since I struggled so much, but it "feels" wrong. Artorias when I first played Dark Souls felt good. Hard, took me a long time, but eventually I perfected it and it felt like a fair challenge I overcame. Malenia absorbing hundreds of health per tick even with BLOCKED hits while having a couple combos that cannot be 100% evaded normally, before dodging perfectly and starting up again is too much and I feel shows flaws in the design, especially when plenty of bosses do this. They fight like the abominable lovechild of BB and Sekiro, but the player is stuck moving like they're in a crippled version of DaS3. I even beat BB and modded 3 again before playing and those two felt so much better in comparison.
Yeah it's hard
>but you should...
No
Most faggots here used guides or watched jewtube videos.
They didn't beat the game
>They fight like the abominable lovechild of BB and Sekiro, but the player is stuck moving like they're in a crippled version of DaS3.
>It's hard because bosses are doing combos like Sekiro bosses did while you are stuck with fighting them with Dark souls combat mechanics.
I love how for over a month, zero people on Yea Forums made this argument. Then after an e-celebrity made a 2 hour critique using this exact argument, it gets posted multiple times in every thread.
Zero interesting thoughts to be had by any of the people who post here, it seems.
No.
>E-celeb
That's some bad projection there, user. It may surprise you to learn that many people are capable of coming to the same obvious conclusion without having had heard it before.
>Bosses move fast
>Sekiro and Bloodborne are also fast
>Player moves slow
>Dark Souls is also slow
This isn't advanced thinking and if your only comeback is "funny youtube man I watch also said this" then that shows you're probably wrong. Also why are you watching e-celeb From videos? get some taste.
It's pretty difficult if you're not looking up every useful piece of information about it online, if you actually have to use your brain to figure out strategies and cheeses on your own. That's also what makes it fun and rewarding. It can also be difficult if you're not a weeb that goes for katanas by default or a magic fag.
The majority doesn't give a fuck and went right for the hoarfrost stomp, mimic tear, bleed, glintstone pebble, poison/rot arrow field-bosses etc. And now I see the majority of people that I'm invading have password summons with them that are broken strong, oneshotting everything with their busted rivers of blood.
>That's some bad projection there, user. It may surprise you to learn that many people are capable of coming to the same obvious conclusion without having had heard it before.
Yeah, but that's not what happened here, obviously.
It's not """obvious""", it actually requires heavy mental contortions to think any of the bosses in Elden Ring would work in sekiro.
Good thing that isn't what's being discussed then, huh?
It's the easiest Soulsborne game by far. Gives you so many tools to progress.
>It's difficult if you don't use the tools the developers provided to you
Can you call that the game being difficult then? The game gives you cancer weapons and plenty of abilities to abuse. Not using a walkthrough and not knowing the cheeses SHOULD be par for the course first playthrough, but weapons like Moonveil are really easy to get, not at all hidden, and don't require massive investment to use.
>I dunno, everyone here seems to be a god gamer
lol this board sucks at video games, notice how they don't talk about multiplayer?
This is the easiest game FROM has made to get an achievement for beating the game.
>Good thing that isn't what's being discussed then
It is, you can clearly see that multiple people wrote that.
I found elden beast to be the hardest boss in the game and far harder then any other souls boss. Otherwise none of the other bosses leading up took me more then 10 attempts even with a FTH build.
>This is the easiest game FROM has made to get an achievement for beating the game.
No, that's Dark Souls 1, followed up by Dark Souls 3.
It's the easiest fromsoft game by far if you use the tools the game offers you. If you use mimic or tiche+10, this game isn't much harder than your average ubisoft garbaggio. You can choose what difficulty you want to play as you play it, Elden Ring is unironically one of the best videogames of all time because all the freedom it gives to the player
No. It's intended to be easier than any Soulsborne so far and it's more of a build-dependent RPG than any DS. Every damage stat you can build around has a way to break the game in half.
A lot of "didn't beat the game" restrictions are unironically cope by people who just fucking suck at rpgs and couldn't figure out how to make a good build by themselves.
The dead giveaway was STR threads moving goalposts from "you literally can't beat the lategame with a greatsword" to "ok but the game should be balanced around never using jump attacks, rollpokes, weapon arts or dual wielding and otherwise it's just NOT FUN".
