Recently replayed DaS2 and just dropped it again after a few hours in.
It really is that bad. I know it's become kind of a meme to pretend it's good for (You)s and it is excellent bait but holy shit DaS2 really does suck.

Its a thing in ds2 user. Its why everything feels off in that game. movement, combat, hitboxes, it all comes down to the way the characters move on axis.

The right foot sparks when he does that swing and you rolled right into the spark. You can see the big bright spot where he stomped down in both screenshots, yours and mine.

The only broken one here is Ornstein's clip. Which was patched because I thought him yesterday with low agility and always dodged that attack that way. Never got hit.

What's the reason behind these dumb grab hitboxes? I swear these games runs some weird "the player must die now" scripts and everything goes to hell with shit inputs, skipped dodges and god awful hitboxes with perfect enemy play. And the motherfucking magical HP pixel every boss seems to have.

You were a bit off and the timing is weird as Elden Ring attacks always are but he was swinging his arm at least vaguely through that space.

Summary:
Frames 1-5: Clearly hit.
Frames 6-9: hit due to low ADP (add some points).
Shots 10-11: Very close, but ADP and lack of git gud make these reasonable hitss.
Shot 12: Likely didn't actually trigger because Bearer was already dead

The first DLC is the only good one. If you have a save that can quickly get there, it's worth playing.

Grabs are supposed to be scary because they're unlockable, but even if you're not using a shield they're still scary in FromSoft games because the hitboxes are dogshit. I hadn't thought about that before. If a brand new enemy starts a grab you fucking panic even though you shouldn't know yet that its hitbox is broken. Since grabs causing panic is what's supposed to happen, I think they're making the hitboxes shit on purpose.

Dark Souls 3 brain. That game really is the point where they just fucking gave up and made rolling at the right time the only gameplay. Who cares about how many iframes he has dipshit, he's behind the enemy. Its thrusting in the wrong direction.
