There, i said it!
Linux gaming fucking sucks!
Literally the only games worth playing are Super Tux Kart, Battle for Wesnoth, and retro console emulators. Linux runs all of those flawlessly, so it is therefore the greatest gaming OS
But you can play everything on Linux
dog=elden ring
squirrel=Yea Forums
the best joke ever told
it might suck, but im not going to support this shit
What is the use for Linux for the average consumer with little computer knowledge?
I fell for /g/'s shilling and bought an M1 Mac then installed Linux on it. Shit sucks, can't play any games on it.
Linux is a joke.
linux and windows both suck fuckin dick
but i'll gladly take windows anyday
also that was a experimental feature never meant to leave outside of the office
yeah, just like the candy crush ads on the start menu...
they said that to soften the blow. if they were developing it its because they plan to implement it.
You say that like it's ok that they're even considering it.
you don't have a choice regardless windows is pretty much free now and linux apes don't care to actually improve their OS and instead make their own personal jerry rigged OS
you're lucky gaben even cares
More efficient use of your resources, lowering the amount of data Microsoft is collecting from you, less long term wear on your computer, freedom to do with your computer what you wish, the potential to actually learn how and why your computer does things, the ability to learn how to utilize more technology for your own benefit
>incel seal has to rape a penguin because he can't find a fem-seal to mate with because they're all with seal-chad
The absolute state of sealcels
>>linux and windows both suck fuckin dick
>>but i'll gladly take windows anyday
>while Linux is getting better with each day
>while Windows is getting worse with each day
you are not that good at evaluating your options, are you?
Sounds like you're just dumb and/or stubborn. Lots of people game on Linux just fine, more do so every day. If your games don't work blame the developers who actually are responsible
This except frozen bubble instead of super tux kart, and unironically.
>just started replaying DMC1 on Mint
>barely any setup required or hassles encountered
it's okay if (you) are retarded
Mint is based, how do you find it? Is it your first distro?
I've had problems on both windows and linux but at the end of the day only one is spyware.
Nvidia got their drivers good enough to where ill never boot xorg again.... Now openoffice excel, sorry "libreoffice calc", just has to get good enough that ill never boot windows again..... Good luck with that lol.
Once Linux gets proper VRR and HDR support Windows will no longer have any meaningful advantages over it.
I've distro hopped a little bit. started with Mint like 5 years ago, leaned down a bit to MX, realized that Cinnamon was what was killing my system at the time, dabbled in Manjaro for a few months before I started having issues with commonly used software, and then just recently decided to go back to Mint. I like Debian distros, I guess, and I think XFCE is plenty comfy. it's like XP all over again, but modern IMO.
you are correct, Calc is good enough for some basic and maybe intermediate spreadsheet manipulation, but it does not have whole industry gathered around it like Excel has, so making it pro-level will take a lot of brave companies to switch to it and maybe even start contributing to it
you could contribute to that
maybe your contributions to Libreoffice will be the thing that makes the snowball start rolling
>if you wanna get rid of ads, goy then pay a subscription fee
It's gonna happen and that when my transition to linux starts
what are your recent gripes with LO? not an update goes by where they improve proprietary and ever changing MS formats
The subscription will probably be just a game pass membership
>Seals are known to rape penguins
what the fuck i did not need to know this
With LO? Not enough swimsuits or spats. This year has been pretty bad.
What the fuck is the point of playing games on Linux?
>that's when my transition to linux starts
no it does not
you will tolerate advertisements in your OS and you will tolerate the next thing as well
if you realised the boiling frog situation that you are in, then you would jump out right fucking now
thanks new IP
nah, a subscription based OS is where I draw the line.
...?
along with your attempted transitioning to a woman. there's a reason they call it troonix
>this kills the bird
Proving that "muh games" is no longer a reason to stay on Windows.
Works for me
Just use Windows Enterprise, it has all the dumb bullshit removed
to play games, especially older ones that Wangblows has ruined compatibility with. the only way I could get Arcanum and WH40K: Chaos Gate running, at all.
Some day, I will find my penguin
What the fuck is the point of playing games on PC?
I'll answer that for you, none. Because consoles exist.
eroge
so it's for denegerates and incels?
LTSC bro
99 problems and proton ain't one
No normalfags allowed
if you resorted to LTSx you're basically admitting Windows is a shitshow and MS can't be trusted in some capacity
>33 fps
HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Yeah, but it's rapidly getting better.
(((Linux)))
>Rapidly
or in real world terms stagnant and the only thing holding it back is corporations and autistic retards who have no idea what people really want and instead focus on minor nit picks instead of functional software
>autistic retards who have no idea what people really want and instead focus on minor nit picks instead of functional software
Give an example
how the fuck do i get text to speech to work in games run with proton
name a distro better than Arch +KDE
pro tip, you can't
>or in real world terms stagnant
In comparison to ten years ago, it's night and day. Yes, rapidly, but not close to there yet.
>the only thing holding it back is corporations
I fully agree.
PopOS
Artix+KDE
what games can't you run?
This. Based Popchad.
I did the last time you asked and rolled over.
OpenSUSE+KDE
Don't try to cover up Pop!_OS's shitty name
Arch + Gnome
For the anons wanting to try Linux. Don't listen to the distro-warriors (they're worse than Naruto vs One Piece fans).
If you're just starting out and considering Linux, you need to get either Pop!_OS, Ubuntu, or Mint (Debian based). I would, personally, recommend Pop as it is designed with gaming in mind and comes with Lutris preinstalled. It also has an install version specifically for nVidia users. It's intuitive and easy to use AND it works great. I have tried over 100 steam games and have had only ONE problem - that was with Tomb Raider Underworld (it works, but it's choppy). As far as other games, the only non-Steam I have had problems with is Warzone - otherwise, the games work and work well.
I haven't used Ubuntu or Mint in a few years, so I can't speak to how they are for gaming, so I'll let those users explain.
Pop's biggest feature is it does as you say. Really good for those coming from Windows who think they know everything.
I never understood the joke behind the "do as I say" meme. Why would I want to use something that didn't do what I said? I assume it came from that Linus Cuck Tips video where he intentionally broke "it?"
It's not a meme. I just said it's Pop's biggest feature.
Well, I wasn't calling you out. I was just digressing to the meme that's been flooding these linux threads.
