just beat this again a few minutes ago. still dudes putting down summon signs in kiln on ps3 - based and blessed
dark souls was always just a less finished rehash of demon's souls, the only people still sucking it off are secondaries
Well they did with 2 and haven't topped 2 since
Can't wait for this comfy Dark Souls thread to be invaded by Bloodborniggers
Since we are in a dumb low profile thread, I will finally get it off my chest. I only play PC games and the fact that I will never get to play Bloodborne is very upsetting to me. I really love the whole eldritch/victorian/Innistrad feel of the game. And no, I will not buy a PS4 just to play this one game and I quite literally have no friends, so borrowing is out of the question too.
I said it yet I don't feel better for it.
Buy a PS4 and jailbreak it, you can play any game you like, not just Bloodborne. You Americans are the dumbest folk on the board.
the hydra fucking sucks, i just stand as close as possible to it, block when it hits with its heads, and land some hits, rinse and repeat. peak game design.
i like how this trailer is kind of edgy/cringy with that music yet at the same time is just so fucking good.
Dark souls 1 went for a metroidvania world layout and its the only game in the franchise to do so
Very true. Painted World alone mogs every game in the series.
The cheapest PS4 I can find around here is like 300 canadian loonies and there's literally no other game I'd play that I can't already play on my PC.
or the DS2 apologists...
They can't. People know what to expect, and the fanbase is terrible. The closest they can get is if they release a game without much build up, and change the tone midway so you don't know what the fuck is going on. Bloodborne almost did it. But, the longer it goes on, the worse it gets as the community has just deteriorated with every release.
I've played Bloodborne and I really didn't like it.
Why? All I remember from that area is the annoying ass toxic enemies and an easy (yet cute) boss.
They topped it with Dark Souls 2
1 and 3 are pleb shit
>I adopt pitbulls
but demon's souls was better than dark souls 1 and is still not surpassed, even the bluepoint remake sucked
The interconnected level design is incredibly satisfying in that level. The way it uses one Bonfire and yet you're constantly opening up new shortcuts to new parts of the level is brilliant. I never even fight the boss and it's my favorite area. Hell, it's one of my favorite levels in video games, period.
Also yes, Priscilla is very cute.
is this a goof thread? why post one of the most annoying meaningless minibosses
If you have played DaS3 or Elden Ring before, you have already played Bloodborne.
i like demon souls a lot but its really tiny and lots of throwaway bosses. even a new player will finish in like 25 hours. still love that game though
they already did with dark souls 2
wrong
Dark Souls would have been better with a shorter run time
If you are not going to get a PS4 for Bloodborne then just use the PS Now (or whatever the fuck it's called now) streaming service to play it. Better than nothing. Personally, I got myself a PS3 and a PS4 for DeS/Bloodborne respectively and they were worth it (with some added exclusives stacked on top).
>again
So they topped it?
is the underlying nature of the setting being subverted halfway through the story?? is that a le plotwist??
Take your meds
Demon Souls also had some elements of levels looping, but yeah DS1 is impressive because the whole game world is designed that way, or at least the 1st two thirds of the game are.
this a faggy meme that needs to die, its not hard to bend a level so it curves towards it origin and then just throw in a giant elevator to finish the job. that shit doesnt matter.
Eventually I'm sure you'll be able to emulate it. I played Demon's Souls with my PC for the first time a few months ago and it was probably a better experience than the console version at this point, now that the servers are closed.
Nah, it's not a meme, it's good level design and makes the areas more memorable and feel organic.
Your elevator example is oversimplifying things.
Also, it's way easier to spam bonfires (or lost graces) everywhere while having every area finish on a dead end because you know the player will just teleport to the starting hub.
It's the vidya equivalent of the Berserk '97 OP

It's the worst game in the series after Dark Souls 2
>its organic to end up where you began
should I play Prepare to Die edition or the Remastered one bros
if you ever compare fake-ass porkpie-wearing "folk/blues rock" bullshit to bersek op again ill kill u
Yes, you return to a familiar place that you may know it's safe without opening any menus or having to sit through load screens.
Wrong image? I don't know what Mario Kart has anything to do with this or what are you trying to say.
either one is fine but the original is better - especially non pc if you plan to play online and dont want hackers
PtDE if you're willing to put a little effort into modding it and online isn't important to you.
Remastered if you want a more functional but much less atmospheric experience.
If it's your first run, I strongly recommend PtDE with DSFix.
for me its

pure kino
old good
new bad
repeat whe new thing comes
Dark souls isn't the old one though
new good old bad
repeat when newer thing comes out
consume more shill for free
Depends. Are you on console or pc?
If Console, then Remastered, if only for the 60fps. The lighting's kinda fucky in places, and you have to pay to use the online, but 60fps is way better than an unstable 20.
If on PC, then PTDE all the way. I don't think you can get it on Steam anymore, but PTDE with DSfix mogs Remastered 100%.
I don't know anything about what you're talking about but my point stands that it's a strange combination that works well. I'll go right along making the comparison.
>you will never play demons blind again
>you will never play dark blind again
>you will never be in an early demons thread about
>you will never be in a pre-ptd dark thread again
alright thanks bros
Bloodborne was fine. The build diversity sucks ass and the game feels half-complete without the DLC. It can turn into mindless smashing with the health-regen mechanic and a lot of enemies staggering easily. Most or all of the NPC fights are complete bullshit. It still has one of the coolest settings of From games, and I hope From keeps making new IPs instead of making sequels.
Also, do you guys recommend these mods? or just DSfix?
It is still the only From-game that did the world traversal as it did. But even then, every time a new game releases people are disappointed it didn't have DaS1 world and connectivity.
DSfix is enough. Just check the ini that comes with it and change the settings accordingly.
The High-res one is good and not an art style change. Never used the config utility, but I doubt it could ruin your experience.
Dark Souls 3 topped it. The interconnected world in 1 is cool but it's pretty unimportant compared to the design of the individual levels themselves, the boss battles, the combat, the enemy design, basically all the shit that Dark Souls 3 did better. 3 is just so much more fun to play and a lot less annoying, and it doesn't have any aggressively unfun areas like 1's Blighttown or the part with the skeletons. Dark Souls 1 is a god game but I just don't enjoy it as much as the later soulsborne titles, I always get sick of it pretty early on.
Why would you claim such a thing and post one of it's worst enemies at the same time?
you dont have to know what im talking about just listen to me
Dark Souls 3 is the most boring game From Software has made. As you said, it is pretty fun to play and its less annoying, but its the least memorable game. There are no complete dogshit zones or enemies, nothing that makes you struggle and curse at the developers. It recycles all the good parts from their other games, but has no identity. It is refinement, not revolution.
I've been planning on replaying it via RPCS3 so I can experience 1.0 again after so long.
p much this
>They will never top Demons Souls again
Fixed that for you chief.
Just DSFix.
I don't know the exact improvements that the High-resolution textures pack brings, but fan made texture packs have a bad reputation of butchering the artstyle.
The vanilla textures already look good enough.
Dark Souls 3 is a good game, but I don't like it at all. The bosses are all so repetitive. So many of them just boil down to learning a new set of weirdly timed attacks to dodge, then halfway through the boss goes "Heh...forgive me master, for I have to go all-out, just this once..." and start up their ebin second stage with some new weirdly timed attacks to learn (only these ones are much faster or on fire or something).
Plus the levels are all hallways. Good hallways, but hallways.
>on ps3
Didn't ds1 ps3 support/online stopped quite a while ago?
nope. they did stop demon souls servers though, but you can play on thearchstones using custom dns settings.
No, that was Demon's Souls.
