I understood the DeS remake because not a lot of people played it on PS3 but fucking Dead Space is on everything and you can perfectly play it on pretty much any PC.

Dead space has aged pretty badly in terms of visuals and gameplay. Plays like RE4 and looks dated.

I've already been let down by the House of the Dead remake, I'm not prepared to be disappointed by a game that legitimately didn't need a remake.

It's still too spoopy for me. I can't do scary games. Other people are able to just de-immerse and not care if they die, I'm constantly hyper aware of every noise and movement and play in such a high stress state I can only play for like an hour at a time.

If the whole remake can maintain the amount of soul and detail present in this comparison screenshot, I'm all for it. My biggest fear is any downgrades in content, or worse the SJWifying of the game which will almost certainly happen.

DS1 and DS2 are universally loved games and this looks good, at least the PC port will work this time, and it will introduce the new generation of players to it.

But instead of treading new ground with new games inspired by DS, we are still in the remake/rehash phase - 0 risk, repeat what worked, keep the shareholders happy until the next quarter
