This series is literally nothing but padding

This series is literally nothing but padding.

>small monsters are pointless and only exist for side missions
>gear requires you to hunt the same monster over and over
>when hunting a monster, you only ever actually engage them for a minute or two. The rest of the time is spent chasing the monster around a big empty field.
>endgame/post game missions are literally just monsters you've already beat, just with a small variation or there are multiples of them

I was told this series shits all over Elden Ring but it makes the padding in that game look far less egregious. Imagine having to fight Astel 20 times if you want his weapon.

Imagine that the astel fight was remotely engaging though. That's the key difference.

>*ROAR*
>*flies away*
So engaging wow.

Monster Hunter fights are unengaging by design. I mean literally, the monster is designed to disengage with the player so you have to chase it around and engage with it again.

Lmao who said Monster hunter shits over Elden Ring OP. Just say you got filtered and move on

I mean I did beat the game solely because it's fun with friends. Can't imagine playing this piece of shit series solo.

>Seething because Elden Ring is bad
Just get a therapist

You said elden ring was bad and monster hunter is better. I'm merely reporting my results.

Playing online is fun and I enjoy/embrace the grind.
>Imagine having to fight Astel 20 times if you want his weapon
Going by the amount of shitters on this board that sounds like the average ER experience as well.

I cant play solo because I get really lonely and depressed being all alone without three other bros to hang out with

>yo we made like 40 monsters and you're gonna keep fighting them... over and over and over and over again

Hard to find anything to like in MonHun unless you're some grind-loving autist. The magic wears off in 10-15 hours.

Every single boss in mosnter hunter is ebtter than every single boss in elden ring. I can't imagine you're playing MH in good faith without noticing that. Are you using defender gear? Playing online?

You're not required to re-fight any monster until you advance in rank, which only happens twice and monsters are given new moves. In the game OP posted, the ONLY monster you have to fight more than once is Anjanath, which you have to fight twice.

Let's be honest here, if astel was a monhun monster he'd be considered one of the best in the series. He even kind of fights like one. Instead he's just an optional boss for an optional ending.

He'd be considered a shallow dogshit excuse of a fight, like every elden ring boss.

Oh yeah not enough roaring I forgot

I seriously hope you're fucking kidding
astel would be a nothing monster that gets headlocked because it barely moves, and it would be rightfully shit on for mostly doing lame AOEs when it isn't getting headlocked because monsters constantly doing AOEs is shit design in a game where you don't have a full half second of iframes on demand when you press circle

Don't care, still get to bonk cool giant creatures in the head

No normal person beat the game without going through the trouble of upgrading their gear/weapons. Don't pretend to be retarded user.

You're describing literally 90% of monhon monsters. That's why the game is easy. That's why they can get away with forcing you to fight the same boss over and over, because you will just headbonk it over and over until you get enough crafting materials for your gear set.

More like elden ring gives you 15 i-frames on a basic roll. Positioning and strategy doesn't exist because you can just press the universal perfect evasion button and never be at risk. And that's not even mentioning shields.

You know how many i-frames rolls in the lastest MH has? 6. Now that's how you design a fucking battle system.

I have multiple times so you're telling me I don't exist based on your own casualism. Sad.

>i-frames
Monhun Superman dive has more iframes than any souls game.

And has 3 seconds endlag and requires 4 seconds of setup. Yawn.

No you didn't. You would literally run out of time because of damage.

It doesn't need to be better than that. Not like you'll be challenged very often except when doing multiple tempered monsters or some shit like that.

lets go look at the latest entry's endgame monsters
>apex rathalos
has a few AOEs which are mostly avoidable with positioning, moves constantly
>apex rathian
has no AOEs, moves constantly
>apex mizutsune
has no AOEs unless you count beams, moves constantly, is vulnerable to being stunlocked because of partbreaks though the emergency version is harder to do this to
>apex diablos
fucking WON'T STOP MOVING, has no AOEs
>apex zinogre
has a few AOEs which are mostly avoidable just by walking, constantly moving
now I would ask you to post your solo emergency quest clears but you don't have any despite mh being "easy game"
and the entire fucking point of superman dive is that you fully put your weapon away, sprint away from the monster, and dive for a long animation. you have to completely curb your aggression for a long period for access to it
you can roll or bloodhound step through 99% of attacks in ER and immediately start spamming attacks again

>Struggling with random tempereds
>He hasn't even gotten to the hard monsters yet

Hahaha

No. This has been proven by crazy people. Besides, if you hunt the same monster twice time every 30 hours of progress you'll be fine.

>dodging
lol
Lmao even
>but it got nerfed
not enough to not make it baby easy mode.

Souls games are just held to a high standard. MonHunfags have pretty much accepted their series is forever an archaic psudeo-MMO.

>Lasts 60 seconds
>Average hunt time: 15 minutes

Ah yes. I forgot you can only use a mantle once before it gets deleted.
Nevermind
I concede.

I.E. Souls is reddit. Shallow pretentious garbage loved by normalfags for easy gratification. Monster Hunter is Yea Forums. Hardcore, deep, satisfying, but not for everyone. And thank god for that.

>YOU JUST HUNT MONSTERS IN MONSTER HUNTER!?!? BRO WTF!
And I'm okay with that.

MHW sold millions dude. It was basically the Elden Ring of monhun. Pretty sure Asmongold played it on stream.

Not every game has to be for everyone user. There's thousands of other great games if you don't like Monster Hunter

>gear requires you to hunt the same monster over and over
This doesn't happen in modern MH

Exception =/= Rule. Sales have been trailing off ever since so the casuals are already abandoning ship.

Tell me how to get 5 azure stargems without fighting the same boss multiple times.

And when you actually learn how to play the game the monster never leaves to first area.

Play one of the better games in the series like GU, P3rd or Rise if you dont want mmo padding.
>Inb4 gathering quests
Optional, dont be a retard

>Imagine having to fight Astel 20 times if you want his weapon.
I don't mind fighting that dude, i liked it.
Also that's the desire sensor you're talking about and it's full RNG (outside of some parameters and values).

Attached: CCleaner.jpg (960x952, 79.92K)

Ah yes. The stunlocking the monster until it dies meta.

You don't need even 1 azure stargem.

Armor sets in MHW require multiples of certain materials to craft the full set.

>Full sets in a game where every piece activtes skills on its own

Oh no... It's retarded...

No it's timer and damaged based. You can kill Narga in Rise under 4 minutes and he will never leave his spawn point. In GU you can TA Glavenus in about 90 seconds and he will try to limp away so you save your big damage art to snipe his head. He can't be locked down by any weapon. You probably don't play this series but that's okay keep saying dumb shit.

>using full sets
go back

Are we seriously acting like it isn't common for monhun players to refiight bosses over and over for gear sets and to upgrade weapons? Seriously?

I'd like to see an actual monhun run where the player only fights every required boss once.

It's just you, dude. The rest of us re-fight monsters because it's fun, and to improve our skills at the game.
I couldn't care less what mats I get; can't exectly bring my gear with me to the next MH game.

>Not using full Fatalis
Dumbasses, get better decorations so you can not wear your rimeguard pants or helmet.

If you don't think that's fun play other game, is not even a flaw, they even added melding on World to get rare drops easier for the casuals, to make the armor piece/weapon I want from a monster its top 2-3 hunts that are like 5minute each.

I miss the first monster hunter where I would grind for hours on end just for 'small' game hides and ores just so I could work up to killing that first major monster. And that game was atmospheric as fuck and more serious.

I just bought MHW and Iceborne and I have no idea what I'm doing. That first training area doesn't help. It seems pretty deep but reading guides just to get started is a bit much. Also, whats up with this 'tenderizing' shit that from a google search appears to be ass pain inducing?

Don't worry about it until Master rank which is like 50 hours in. Basically you make monster parts softer but it's a big risk if you don't know what you're doing.

Pick a fast weapon with low commitment like SnS or DB and hit monsters until they day. I trust your gaming experience will take over and youll figure the rest out.

>tfw had a trauma with dinosaurs because of jurassic park nightmares
>not scared of dragons whatsoever
>get monster hunter for the ps2
>get quest for gathering herbs in forest and hills
>velocindrome cut scene plays
>get gangbanged by the velocindrome and velocipreys
>absolutely terrified and turn off the ps2
>didn't give and actually got back to kill the velocindrome
This game helped to overcome my fear to dinosaurs beating the shit out of velocindromes over and over as a teen.

Attached: 1648935443633.jpg (832x868, 44.06K)

This. I just play multiplayer so other people make up for my shitty damage. Armor and skills literally don't matter

based

Pick a weapon that looks cool and look up a video on how to use it. Some weapons have long complicated combos that you might not even discover on your own.
I had no idea you could slinger burst backwards to turn your character around while using a switchaxe for example.

I played Lance for 90 hours in tri before realizing you could dodge three times in a row.

I beat everything up to xeno'jiiva in world without realizing the hammer had a power charge.

>people complain about short i-frame in monhun
>meanwhile I enjoy nearly a full second of perfect invincibility with foresight slash
Ayyyyy lmao longswords wins again baby.
