Maybe they should make a game that isnt shit

>sells better than very other 2D metroid
>this is somehow a bad thing
really makes you think.

Metroids always sold poorly. Honestly the fact Dread sold as many as it did is nothing short of a miracle.

salesfag genocide when

I play Metroid Prime 1 and 2 about once every three years or so
I'll probably never play that trashfire again.

I roll my eyes everytime i hear "they should remake (beloved previous gen game) on twitter or youtube comments. They love to ask for old games but wont support

aaaah the pre-cope before the FYD
perfect

here's my prediction of the upcoming sale report
>3.57 million

soon™

Metroid Prime 4 lost, Tanabe.
enjoy your trooned up SHITTED.com sequel

That's good especially for the Metroid series.

Only 3 million? What a flop.
:pepePoint:

star fox was never good

>Metroid Prime 4 lost
(it was never going to be good anyway)
(and it doesn't make Dread and better)
(also you're a fagit)

I thought it only sold 850k? Why are you drastically jumping the numbers up now?

>Barely sold 3 million copies.
That makes it the highest selling Metroid title ever. Despite Metroid's legacy, it was never really a big seller.

ey dont throw me in there im a big fan of Dread. its not a cope its a well known fact Metroid is one of Nintendos series that never sells super well. Thats why they are so reluctant to make any

In what reality did Dread only sell 850k? It sold 2.74 mil by December 31st and has likely hit 3 mil by now but we won't know until Nintendo releases their sales data.

t.filtered by the final boss

A simple 2D platformer got 3mil sales at $60 each and they haven't even started putting it on sale yet. You know how much other companies would kill for that? Nintendo made a big bag of money off this.
>but Mario/Zelda sell more...
And if they just release the big franchises yearly they get stale. Catering to smaller fanbases who like Mario and Zelda but prefer games like Fire Emblem, Donkey Kong, Kirby or Metroid helps keep them in the Nintendo ecosystem.

>3m sales for a niche series
>Failure
Uh huh.

Retarded or bait. After only 3 months Dread was already the 2nd bestselling game, LTD, in the entire series. It's undoubtedly number 1 by this point.

Pathetic numbers.

I've been asking for Prime 4 though. I never asked for Dread.

Compared to what?

Nice to see that Dread continues to live in OP's head rent free

Attached: samus spin.gif (50x96, 7.78K)

I hope if Prime 4 ever happens they choose to high mobility gameplay with the grapple beam and fast combat to show how powerful Samus is canonically.

Compared to Mario and Zelda we all know that Metroid used to sell as well as Mario and Zelda back in the 90s

This is now a kino Dread thread. Have you tried the boss rush mode?

I'll take what I can get. It's been 15 years since Prime 3 and I don't know what Retro is capable of currently.

Not yet, how does it work?

Super Mario World sold 20million copies, LttP was 4.6million and Super Metroid was 1.4million.

Parents of kids and people who don't play video games beyond Nintendo buy Mario and Zelda meanhwhile Metroid is a niche complex series that relies on hard to master mechanics and references to other sci fi to sell. This is like comparing how many people own cars to how many people own motorcycles.

>3M isn't good enough
We used to mock EA for treating 3M sales as a flop.

Not really, Metroid has always been more niche. On the NES:
>Mario 3 sold 17m
>Zelda 1 sold 6.5m
>Metroid 1 sold 2.7m

SMW was a pack-in which skews its numbers

>here's my prediction of the upcoming sale report
.57 million
That would be great, and it would make it the best selling Metroid game by a significant margin in less than 6 months.

metroid is not your typical normie faggotry
go play le epic dark souls you tranny bitch

Everything sells crazy on the Switch. It's just a matter of Nintendo not having enough resources and not enough competent outside devs to farm off work to to keep up with demand.

I wish they'd revive custom robo.

So it sold insanely well for a Metroid game then. I don't get why people think a game has to do fucking GTA numbers in order to break even.

The demo was awful. If they hadn't put it out I would have bought it 100%.

Just a reminder, it outsold all ps5 exclusives combined.

>I wish they'd revive custom robo
Monkey paw actually fulfilled that one but apparently Synaptic Drive wasn't worth remembering.

I enjoyed it even if the EMMI were a little faggy at end, over all still good.
Watermellon suit was cool, surprised there was no option to use it in subsequent playthroughs.

Noise got dropped for a reason.

I bought it twice

The fact that people have ever believed this at any point depresses me.

I got the collectors edition, and that's fine because that's basically what this is for. Completing my collection. I have all the games in their original packaging as I've loved these games since I was a kid. Didn't care for Dread, but I get why younger players do. It's twitchy and one note and just not for me. I hope Prime 4 isn't like this.

Honestly for all the praise it got, this is a game I have rapidly forgotten and will almost certainly never visit again. For someone with Super Metroid in their personal top 10, I felt this game come up short in nearly every measure. The action and control was decent, but otherwise it felt cheaply made (many MANY duplicate bosses despite its short length), jarringly linear and hand-holding, graphically and artistically weak, and with some of worst loading screen issues I've seen in decades. IMO, the game did not deserve the praise it got. It was maybe better than Other M, but it was not a return to form of the classics, nor can it challenge even the most basic indie metroidvanias from the past decade.

of course it's bait, this shithole is incapable of discussing any game earnestly it always have to be le ebin postironic shitpost got you to reply!! I fucking hate niggers, faggots and people who post here

Super is dogshit, you have tranny taste

I didn't support this game because it's a shitkomoto game that once again fails to hold up to the metroid standard.

3 million is really good for a Metroid game, especially a 2D Metroid game.

>some of worst loading screen issues I've seen in decades
I’m not gonna bother with the rest of your post but what are you talking about? One 15-20 second load screen every time you go to a new area and like a 4 second load screen on every death are the worst loading issues you’ve seen in decades? Is this the first console game you’ve played since 2005? Have you had an SSD on your pc since 2010? I honestly don’t get it, minute long load times were almost standard on PS4 and Xbone, and dread’s loading times aren’t too out of the realm of typical switch loads

>generic reddit complaints
Nice try, larping snoy

I think it's just that loading screens become more annoying when the game is mainly about exploration.

I get that, and obviously if there were no loading screens the game would be better, but there’s only so much you can do. My point is that I’ve seen so much worse on Switch, even in the same genre. I saw a video on bloodstained showing that in the worst case you can get a 15 second load time going between individual rooms.

I say the loading screens are shit because they are. Some of them can take upwards of a minute. Try to blame it on my switch, lol, I played it on an emulator, the load screen timing is hard-coded, the game was developed for a singular hardware configuration and so they cheaped out of dynamic loading, too, even if the game could return to presentation sooner it doesn't because they reduced budget there, too. If you don't believe me, bust out a stopwatch and go watch some YouTube videos. The loading issues are so bad that speedrunners almost immediately abandoned the game because nearly half the speed run was waiting for the interminable loading screens. There is no hyperbole here, the loading is quite literally the worst I've experienced in a decade. It reminds me of PS1 games, where every new area you entered meant it was time for a piss break.

>emutranny complains about anything
Try not playing on a poorly coded piece of shit

Man, "maybe better than Other M" gave it away. You just want to start shit.

>PCsubhumans filtered
Based dread

I'm not at home. Can someone please consider responding to this clown with a video demonstrating Dread's loading times on the Switch?

I didn't even know the game was released yet

Because newfags don't understand that not every game has a $500 million budget.

Waiting until they make a nude Samus mode where you can see her pussy dripping wet and moans every time you kill a monster

I thought they could emulate games perfectly but now apparently relatively modest games like dread have loading screens taking a minute, surely these faggots wouldn't have lied on the internet right would would anyone do that

>Zero Mission sold under a million
That's disappointing

There's a hell of a lot more wrong with Dread than just the loading screens. The game as a whole is cheaply made with very repetitive stages and zones, limited in scope, with frequently reused graphical assets and with a real lack of detail. Bosses frequently repeat and enemy variety is low. The game is very short, the music is limited scope. A big chunk of the game are the robot sections, which are identical regardless of what zone you're in, and which contain only a single enemy which you have to kill the same way 6 different times. Samus has no big abilities, and there are only a couple interesting and active cutscenes in the game. The game has no online component, no alternate game modes, no enemy compendium, no lore additions. It is, factually, a low budget game. Corners were cut left and right to the keep this game within budget.
