Let's be honest for a moment, this is poorly implemented and ruins the fucking game. They didn't even try to balance bosses around it or make it an interesting mechanic. I'm not saying you DIDN'T BEAT THE GAME... you did you won victory is yours. I'm just saying Fromsoft are the ones at fault for being lazy and thinking free summons in dark souls 4 would be an okay mechanic. They very clearly designed the whole game around being hard and challenging and then have Summons which will trivialize any encounter they are allowed to be in.
you could summon players for every fight in all the previous sous games dummy
Jordan Parker
it was for casuals that brought them millions of dollars that mechanic is there to stay
Eli King
I honestly expected this shit to be some sort of "summon creature -> attacks a couple of times -> vanishes" kind of deal that you could do everywhere like your other spells but instead it's a normal summon with no drawback besides the FP that you can pretty much only use during bosses.
Liam King
At least that made the boss have more hp and if you get a shit summon it makes the fight harder. Spirit calling is free.
Benjamin Collins
>poorly implemented You are just shit.
Nathan Perez
Spirit summons are in general much worse than actual players, don't be stupid. They barely deal any damage and die so fast, on top of not being able to dodge
Ryder Peterson
Cope i did beat the game
Justin Anderson
I agree. From sacrificed whatever integrity of "fairness" they had to the difficulty by throwing more bullshit at you than ever, with the intention of pushing you into using the ashes which instead makes the combat a total pushover. It fucked the balance for longtime players that prefer overcoming a challenge and normally opt out of this style of play, in order to finally cater to the journalist fucks that have been asking for easy mode. Didn't even mention the fucking horrendous decision to switch to open world. From sold out.
David Flores
My wife black knife tiche dodges everything
Owen Richardson
Nothing that is completely optional to use is poorly implemented. You want to use it? use it - you don't want to use it? don't use it.
The summoning bell really is easy mode. I would harp on it but honestly without it casuals would have no chance of getting past the first mandatory boss. Tiche and tushy tounger can dodge and summoning real players increases boss HP. They may be more competent but you can't build a gameplan around player summons unless you can communicate with them beforehand. That in combination with the increased boss health makes spirit ashes the more stable choice.
Just dont use it. And I'm being 100% serious. It's a PvE only item, you know it's broken so show some restraint and don't use it. The only "issue" would be that there are tons of ashes and upgrade items scattered around and someone who does not use summons has no need for those.
Jayden Hernandez
I think it was guard counters or specifically making enemies be able to deal with them that messed up the combat.
Asher Hall
I have no need for weapon greases since i can't apply them. This doesn't make me seethe and start threads on Yea Forums. People are fucking retarded about anything in this game
Sebastian Lewis
except the decision to include it completely fucked the balance for the entire game. they clearly upped the bullshit because they WANT you to use the summons.
Julian Martin
summons are balanced >but i used a summon and beat boss easily when i was struggling without summons you're overleveled. simple as
Christopher Stewart
You're retarded I hope you don't make any more threads in the future because your retard opinion is dragging the already abysmally low level of discussion around ER even further down
Chase Powell
>upped the bullshit they upped the build up because everything in this game can and should reward you with a broken build. its up to you which you want to use. games are a power fantasy
Jaxon Bailey
You are being given options on how to play the game, it's up to you to tune your challenge to your taste.
A lot of crying from you retards comes from two distinct camps:
-idiots who haven't grasped the "trick" to the mechanic yet (like revenants) -unga bunga morons who are upset that they can't poise and hyperarmor through everything like in DS3.
Are the people who use ashes the same people who savescum? Guys who just can't contain themselves from breaking their gameplay because they c a n n o t cope with failure?
Christian Bennett
>except the decision to include it completely fucked the balance for the entire game wrong, you make your own balance by using/not using it >they WANT you to use the summons sure, doesn't mean you have to listen to them, plus if they actually wanted you to use them the bell would ring automatically at every boss summoning a random Ash.
Grayson Cox
>no need for weapon greases since i can't apply them That's actually a really stupid choice that you cant apply enhancements to "special" weapons.
Levi Gray
Couldn't give any less of a shit. I've played 6 games with le epic omg so hard From formula before Elden Ring. I welcome anything that mixes it up and I don't care about omg so hard and punishing anymore, I did all that over and over for 13 years now.
Benjamin Wood
they should had kept summon power levels static and upgrades would add 5 seconds to duration with base duration being 10 seconds. also make the summoning animation instant and cut fp costs to 1/5 of what they are
Ryan Edwards
I agree. I tried it for a bit and all my victories felt hollow. Restarted with no summoning and I'm enjoying the game more than ever.
Aiden Ortiz
>base duration being 10 seconds >summon friend in limgrave dragon fight >runs up to dragon >by the time they reach dragon they despawn
only way that initial timer works is if its much easier to summon them (maintain full movement speed while summoning on horseback/foot) or making them much easier to upgrade. up that initial time by 20 to 30 seconds
Landon Gray
Most of them, sure. Everyone knows the few overpowered ashes to use.
Michael Bennett
>calling players good or bad >in a pve game fromdrones really are something else.
Angel Brooks
You could also just get a strong shield and turn the game into a joke
Austin Sanchez
spirit bell is fun and makes the fights fun >fuck huge convoy walking down the road >summon my demi nigga squad and have a big brawl >fighting boss >second phase >summon second me its cool as fuck
if you both beat the game, it doesnt really matter. the game dosent have a dmc style rating system
Christian Reyes
i meant spirit summons. summoning npcs or players already scale bosses up so theyre balanced
Blake Wright
anyone find other uses for the ashes? obviously the jellyfish sisters have a "quest" and Latenna can ride a wolf if you spawn her near one
Nolan Flores
No, you don't need to use spirit summons. Yes, you need to learn to appreciate the other tools you've been neglecting in favour of roll spam. >Boss does near unreactable swipes up close? Block when you are near >Boss delaying an overhead swing? Smack him a few times then parry the attack when it comes out >Boss does a stomp? Jump
Ryder King
if you used the tools presented to you by the game, you didnt fucking beat the game
Ian Price
Watching normies play the game is so excruciating, they don't pay attention to anything, keep missing important stuff and of course they over rely on cheesing and summons. But I'm very happy it is so successful and mogging the pozzed industry so hard they're all seething. If optional summons are the price to pay for from to reach new audiences and hopefully destroy the status quo of soulless ubishut then I'm glad.
Jose Peterson
>i meant spirit summons that is also what i meant, my"friends" were the godrick soulja boys
Justin Torres
>At least that made the boss have more hp Yeah this. Anyone who's done the absolute hell of helping hosts against Elden Beast knows that summoning players isn't always the best option
Andrew Baker
Did anyone use any of the summons except the dogs, jelly fish and mimic?
Lucas Edwards
It's fun for the overworld stuff to take on mobs. Very entertaining. But it definitely trivializes almost every boss fight.
Cooper Morris
that seething ubi dev made the year for me
Jack Diaz
Demi humans are based at night.
Jaxon Adams
why do fromdrones care so much about how people play the games?
Austin Cox
I used the marionette guys and I'm glad I did. They break Red Sif's AI amazingly
Andrew Kelly
Tell me more about the jelly fish quest I never use summons?
Joshua Johnson
why do you care so much about "fromdrones"
Brody Moore
Costs like your whole FP bar, bruh. "Free" lol
Benjamin Baker
Pre patch mimic was crazy dude what are you talking about, it could also proc status effects
Any summon with bleed can do 10 percent of a boss healthbar and black knife tiche has a health scaling dot
Benjamin Moore
You will know when you run into it. You don't need to summon jellyfish 100 times or something like that.
Jordan Harris
there's a Jelly fish in Giants Mountaintop who wants to go visit the stars with her sister who has died and so you summon the jelly fish ash (which is her sister) and they go to the stars. I forget the reward.
Robert Adams
because you didnt beat the game. fromdrone
Jeremiah Evans
>they clearly upped the bullshit because they WANT you to use the summons Lowest IQ post I've seen in a while
Christopher Morales
The target audience for Elden Ring is much, much bigger than for their previous titles. It literally IS their way of implementing an optional easy mode.
Being hard as balls is no longer a fundamental core philosophy. Sure, you can finish the game solo with a wooden club, grinding and eventually truly outplaying every boss in the process, if you wish to do so. But you can also just have a more casual experience and just use summons and magic and all the other tools, still having a lot of fun, and still finishing the game.
Stop putting the game in the same box as Sekiro and Co.
Are you still so mad about being mocked for summoning? It's ok, easy mode is made for bad players.
Lincoln Ortiz
or in the case of mimic like your entire health bar unless youre a vit chad
Dominic Gray
Yeah I've tried a few here and there. Banished Knight Engvall is pretty buff, but Ashes have the problem of being WAY too passive. There are like 4 ashes in the game set to Aggressive AI and they're the only ones that make a real difference.
Liam Anderson
>Being hard as balls is no longer a fundamental core philosophy >spends tons of dev time making every boss and enemy have tons of attacks and variations and roll catches and other shit >every dungeon is designed to kill you with ambushes everywhere >late game enemy dmg and hp and the highest they've ever been in a souls game lol no I don't buy that for a second
>and magic Lol, love the subtle seething. Magic has always been, and likely always will be, the "easier to explore, harder to do bosses" spec in every From title.
Gabriel Ramirez
no youre mad i beat the game, while you cant without summoning. scrub dying to malenia 1000 times lmao
