I had this beast for years. It was perfect. Then it wore out and keys started dying. So I bought another. Then it did the same thing and I couldn't find a replacement, so I got a Ducky One— but it's not the same. I don't hate it, it's lasted a lot longer, but I liked how lightweight and simple the Eclipse was.

I took it apart and cleaned the membrane and shell and put it back together but every now and then it loses signal randomly until I bend the wire a certain way. I could attempt to solder the PCB and see if a reflow would help, but it's not worth the trouble for a $12 keyboard.

Online stores like zenni let you punch in whatever prescription you want, so just get something slightly weaker than that you were prescribed if you really want to play that game. They're pretty cheap too compared to the usual jewry that goes on in the brick and mortar shops. Got my pair for like $30.
Your eyes are only really in danger once you reach that extreme prescription territory where your eyes are literally about to go blind though, so I think you are worrying over nothing.
