We've had two Halo Wars rts games

We've also had Halo Spartan Assault and Spartan Strike, top down twin stick shooters for Windows Phone.

There have been attempts at other Halo spinoffs like an MMO, a Mega Bloks game, a space combat game similar to the one campaign level in Halo Reach but expanded into a full game, etc.

Instead we just get more FPS..

Spartans in the show aren't just kidnapped children conditioned into becoming soldiers, they're flat out heavily brainwashed to keep them loyal to the UNSC at all times.
It's a plot point in the first episode that Chief touches a Forerunner macguffin and it removes the brainwashing, making him a potential threat to the UNSC.
