Good
trannies get the rope

It's truly amazing. SMTards were trying so hard to create the illusion of hype but even they got bored of this game in a month. Even the le based lawchad spam didn't catch on

Meanwhile people are still talking about Persona 5 to this day. KWAB. Yet more proof that Persona is the chad franchise and SMT is the loser dating sim (you date demons).

well smtv is literally persona 5 but without the heart

Game was shit, duh

all of those games are

Terrible series that died on the PS2. Play better RPGs.

based

This game just oozes soul

wait for the finished game in the maniax edition

Niche series are niche for a reason. Sometimes they're just mediocre.

It was an OK game, Marsh's review puts it best - great party building system marred by level scaling, coupled with meh exploration and a shit plot make for a 6/10 game. And the guy said this after getting a reviewer code from ATLUS kek.
V was my first SMT game and the best part of it was that it introduced me to Nocturne.

>sold 800k copies in 5~ months
>Triangle Strategy outsells it in two weeks
as someone who was looking forward to SMTV since it was announced 4 fucking years ago, i really don't know what went wrong. the finished game feels incomplete especially in terms of character motivations (Yuzuru exists to do nothing). the roster is lopsided to hell and back, you can tell they had to work with what Persona wanted in HD because there's a billion heralds and megami and tyrants but other races can't go level 40 or exceed 5~ fucking members

>i really don't know what went wrong
Unironically the questionable protag design. Trap fetishists and sentai fags are the minority.

I'm not a femboy fan but you just get used to staring at the dude's ass while sprinting about ten hours in

What were the final sales? something like less than 800k last I checked, oof.

>jrpg protag looks like a fag??? that's why the game did poorly
no you stupid fucking retard, if that was the worst thing in SMTV then it'd be a much better game

Honestly this seems to be the most genuine comment on this game. I agree wijth Marsh's points except for the story. I don't give a shit about the story. 7.5/10

they needed another Strange Journey not some gay anime desert shit

WTF NINTENSISTERS OUR GAME IS BEING ASSAULTED

Like?

if nahobino wasn't such an ugly gay design the game would sell much more and you know it. Hell, even if he stayed a feminine schoolboy in a flower pattern uniform the game would sell more.

we all finished it bro

people finished elden ring and still talk about it, curious

No they don't

Elden Ring is 200 hours long, I certainly haven't finished it. SMT V was goty last year, also one of the best turn based JRPGs ever not sure what else you want.

I'm still waiting for the PC port of the eventual Nocturne Maniax equivalent.
Until then, yeah.

Nah, DS was good.

People finish elden ring and talk trash about it which is even worse lmao
t. finished elden ring at 60 hours and I want my hours back

I hope so. SMT5 is one of the worst Atlus games ever made. Might even be the worst one for me.

This is one of the strongest forces in the SMT canon

Cool, he's my second favorite protagonist after space marine

Remember the shitposts about environments being just a color palette change

Then ER did the same and nobody realized that open world is shit, at least the pacing in SMTV wasn't as fucked because you always had a gatekeeping boss

youtube.com/watch?v=U17FDOUW2Bc

Lost interest at the demon castle. And it's not because of the whole wind puzzles, I know some people hate them but I thought they were alright. The game was just getting boring.

I like it, great game. Did two playtrougth with rebirth.

Damn you discord trannies can't even decide whether you want to shitpost SMT V or Elden Ring. It's kind of impressive how your tracking gets confused, like a real life NPC.

I started replaying nocturne recently and man it just shits all over V. I liked V well enough but the lack of dungeons is really rough. Nocturne has repeating tilesets too but V takes it one step further by having all the major areas be recolors of the first zone.

>Then ER did the same and nobody realized that open world is shit
That's just because you're a shitposter user, and thus you just selectively delete anything from your memory that does not serve your shitposting agenda. There are people complaining about shit in ER every day.

That being said if you think the zones in elden ring are on the same level of "just different colored deserts" you might be even lower than I took you for.

Nah, people in general haven't finished it. Only roughly a quarter of people have.

It was fun, OST is god tier

>Only roughly a quarter of people have.
A quarter of the people talking about elden ring in Yea Forums? Where did you take this data from?

When is the PC version going to get released?

>muh ubisoft towers
youtube.com/watch?v=uaR-SiKKTVk

Why did they make the story shit and why are there no human settlements where you can talk to people like other SMT games. Also why did they gimp the equipment? Literally can’t even change your armor, sword, and no gun??? Wtf

SMT V has the best level design in any SMT game barring maybe Strange Journey

Incidentally, Elden Ring has the best level design of any Fromsoft game

Which desert did you like more? I liked the red one.

>LeVeL DeSiGn
FROM trannies and their 5 hour long zoomer video essays have been a disaster for gaming discussion

I really liked this game and I found it very solid design and gameplay wise, its also a game that's meant to be broken down later on so you get a lot of fun with that

and it'd sell even more copies if they remembered to include a fucking plot. there's nothing worth remembering in the game, except ironically the femboy protag

SMT fag here, I didnt take part in that, I truly wanted this game to be good and in the end, I feel ripped the fuck off.

i cannot understand how anyone can conclude that SMT V has good level design. the sense of exploration feels empty, you have two dungeons with one being okay and one being trash, and the open world is you doing mmo quests and looking for miman in reused asset deserts. when you get btfo'd by games in your own series 10 and 20 years ago, some of them on handheld devices, you've fucked up making your game

music's good though

>just yesterday we had a thread about it
>still gets daily new art from fans
LOL

>crying about discussing aspects of a videogame

I completely disagree with what the other guy said about SMTV's level design though, Da'at is a poor man's vortex world that houses not even one corn maze.

game is good gameplay wise, decent challenging on hard
wish they gave more time to develop the story more, characters pop in and out of scene without explaining anything and it's pretty clear that true neutral got the most attention

The game actually triggered the trannies and all those faggots because "young man". It was a sight to behold.

You literally know nothing about game design besides what someone on youtube said in a video essay

Could have been a good game if they made normal dungeons and not four (4) huge ass samey areas with barely anything to see in them.

This, it was quite a good meme, the level design was pretty nice all things considered when you take in account the xp curve and the boss levels, in fact we never had the "you didn't beat the game" threads even though a turn based game should be far easier to cheese

>young man

Anyone with a brain can intuit level design principles by playing through levels retard. Just because you need a talking head to teach you obvious things doesn't mean everyone else does.

level being a major influence on damage calculation really makes me not want to play the game again, so for that reason i really hate the gameplay. i really hate how punished you are for being underleveled, and how trivialized fights become if you're overleveled. hard was mostly fun (3-4 press turn ishtar and shiva being the best fights in the game) but i just don't really want to deal with juggling my levels again

the navigational puzzles in those open areas are way more interesting than the navigation in most other SMT dungeons, especially if you're going for all the mimans.

Persona 5

bros... the royal edition will be good right?

Exploring is certainly more substantial than running around with Navarre with his glowstick or walking without a map in domains.

Attached: 20220408_051524.jpg (1500x2000, 315.78K)

some of the miman locations were pretty fun to figure out, but as a whole package, i felt it was just worse than what you get from the standard dungeon crawler design from II, SJ, and soul hackers, and even nocturne/DDS had really distinct and fun dungeons a lot of the time. IV is more subjective, but i really enjoyed tokyo as a whole a lot more than any of the overworld locations in V

Because each area has multiple paths, secret areas, different vertical levels that loop in on each other and unique enemy behaviors that take the layout into account. The "open world areas" are designed like giant dungeons which is how they should always be designed. Not only that but each zone might reuse a lot of art assets and be "different color desert" but each one has a unique feel in how you go about them. For instance, the first area has long sweeping hills and caves where you gently go up and down to the next room while the third area is a two level clostrophobic maze with fog in the lower level that you clear when you get on the rooftops.

I liked many things in this game but it's definitely unfinished. Needs a rerelease like Nocturne. Vanilla Nocturne was also shit

Game came out. I finished it and had a good time.
And yet the seething from that one br monkey will never end.

Jumping off of a ledge to find a Miman is less interesting than navigating a maze full of hostile enemies, especially when that maze has stuff like dark rooms and damage floors. I just cleared the Obelisk in nocturne right? Theres a puzzle in that dungeon that revolves around the phases of the moon, and specific floor tiles progress the moon however many phases it specifies. At the end you need to get 3 specific phases in 3 specific floor tiles, fighting the each of the 3 bosses at each space, only being allowed to progress by triggering all 3 in one go. There is nothing even slightly as interesting in V's world.

>at least the pacing in SMTV wasn't as fucked
SMTV had horrendous pacing and it's one of the few things most people can agree on whether they hated or loved the game.

>best part of it was that it introduced me to Nocturne.
it's the opposite for me. I wish Nocturne was my first SMT game since it deals with its formula so much better. SMTV spoiled me halfed of the demon weakness and spells with its stupid QoL.

I still liked the game, tho

exploration was annoying in apoc and IV sometimes, i'll admit, but i just felt like they still had more personality to it than the overall design of V did. makes a good point with enemy placement in the open world making sense for the map layout (sometimes), which is one thing i did like, but the whole package didn't feel right to me

Unique enemy behaviors such as patrolling then charging the player when seen, or the alternative, a flying enemy patrolling then charging the enemy when seen.

>Yea Forums still doesn't know games don't sell for their inherent qualities but solely because of marketing and hype.

>like other SMT games
let me guess, you only played the DS games
